I'm around a lot of South Asians, and most have diabetes and heart disease in their 40's, and live miserable lives after their 60's, die of heart attacks before they hit 80. I guess if I keep up my current lifestyle with watching what I eat and exercise it's possible to live happily in my 80's or 90's. Although my sister in law who was in top shape, watched what she ate died of stroke in her 40's...

Back to gas prices. Still creeping up here in California
There is a good chance when you hit 75 and are still alive, you might want to bump that up to 80+.

As long as Mr. Happy is still working, I'll be fine. Once he stops, it's time to go

Take care of your body, eat right and you will be fine. I'm 58, I'm in better shape now than I was in my 30's. I lost 80 lbs, exercise daily, I feel better now than I have in years. Down to size 34 pants from 40, L shirt size from 2XL. I'll share pics on PM of before and after

Im trying to but life just feels uh, repetitive? I'm not sure how to describe it.

I had that issue with my knee caused by me being a cheap *** with work shoes that ended up with me being unable to walk for a few days and dealing with a cane for a week and half. Problem is that just left me with a week to think and not do anything but think, one of the main things that came to mind was "huh, so this is what it will be like post 85/90" since most of my family does great till then before some sort of chronic issue starts.

Didn't really make me feel very excited about continuing on when combined with how hollow I've felt for the last 8 years. Not bad, just "there" outside of the times I'm competing or driving fast.

Only health "issue" I have is VSS but I've had it since I was 4 and it's never bothered me, I actually use the phantom light traces to highlight my rounds path for pistols. Didn't even realize I had anything until I started instructing people and told them "just follow the traces in so you don't waste time for follow up shots or checking hits" people then proceed to tell me that afterimages aren't normal lol!

If life is repetitive do something to shake it up.

It's 100% true. After 30 everything goes downhill. I'm 44 and I'd do anything to be 30 again.

And trust me I feel you on the repetitive thing. I've been at the same job for a little over 24 years. I'm not exaggerating there's days I'm 100% on autopilot. I get home and I barely have any memory of what I actually did that day.

I just turned 82 and have found that different stages of life (50's 60's, 70's) bring their own enjoyment that are different than the 40's, 50's etc. You just phase into them like a natural progression and overall it's not too bad.

I feel for you I'm almost double your age, but if you take care of yourself, those pains will disappear like they never existed. So will tiredness, mental fatigue etc. You will have lots of reasons to keep going. See the PM I sent you. Trust me, life is worth living if you keep the temple given to you in working order

Thats shocking you feel that way. You couldn't pay me to be 30 again and I am also 44.

Yea I thought me, you and AJT are all 44.

I'm not about to jump off a bridge or anything but I absolutely feel that "hollowness" Striker mentioned.

To keep it somewhat on topic I paid $5.53 this morning for 93.

Outlook is important. If you focus only on the negatives then thats what your reality will be...if you focus on the positives like you're describing then you'll be much happier.

At 44 why I prefer my life now to when I was 30:

1. My kids. Having our kids in our lives enriches them in so many different ways, life without them seems really superficial.

2. I work MUCH less than I did when I was 30. When I was 30 I was working 7 days a week, running around, high stress focusing on trying to build something and I didn't have much time in my life for much else...now I'm home in the evenings, home on the weekends, and I work ~ 30 hours a week. Huge, huge lifestyle difference.

3. I'm much more comfortable with myself, don't care what anybody else thinks of me, don't have anything to prove. I let go of relationships that were one sided and sucked energy without giving me anything back.

So like I said, wouldn't want to be 30 again.
