End of February Sam's was about $2.25. In 5 weeks price increased to $3.45. So... figure about 25 pennies per week average increase since the bombing campaign of Iran began.
My truck gets about 17mpg. Drive 10k miles a year = 11.3 gallons per week. So far... about an average of $7.50/wk additional cost to drive my truck.
Sam's gas pumps have consistently had lines 4-5 deep or more since gas prices have been on the rise during the past 5 weeks or so. Not today... 1-2 at each pump which is about normal. I believe a lot of consumers follow news and alter their behavior accordingly. The news last night and this morning suggested lower gas prices were in the immediate future. Consumers acted accordingly and were not in a hurry to purchase gas before prices increased further as has been the case for the past 5 weeks. At least that's my observation and take on it.
IDK if this has anything to do with anything, probably not, but the pump was slower than HELL yesterday.
Are they running their tanks low maybe? On purpose?
Have you used this specific pump regularly? Could be an issue with that one in particular.
Back in January I used a diesel pump at Sam's Club that literally took 2 minutes per gallon to dispense. And then the auto-shutoff failed and dumped fuel all over both me and the car. I have gotten both gasoline (many times) and diesel (a handful of times) from that station without issue, but not sure if I've ever used that specific hose before.

I can't remember exactly but oh I'm sure I've used that pump before, used that gas station since birth basically. I can't find my Sam's card lol but there the fuel is quite fast.
And I was just throwing out ideas, it might have nothing to do with anything. I was just thinking maybe they're trying to stretch it or get the illusion they are by refilling later because it's so expensive?

That's what I'm thinking. You were prob one of the last to fill up before the underground storage tanks were due to be refilled.
Either that or they sold way more gas than anticipated that depleted the storage tanks earlier than normal and before scheduled delivery.
I think I've only had gas pump s l o w l y less than 5 times in my life.

Adding to the time it takes for a customer to fill up pumping gas, reducing the overall amount of transactions is a "tactic"?
It makes more sense that there's an issue with the pump. Big bulk petrol stations want people in and out as fast as possible. More people, more transactions.
My understanding is that each pump has a filter that is replaced regularly, and as they filters clog up and get closer to that replacement date, the pumps will slow down.

Reminds me when I filled up the parents boat in the Bahamas..."Never trust pumps in the islands." Pumped the gas into this funnel/filter that I stuck inline to the boat.
300 gallons through that took like 30mins. The amount of crap the filter caught was insane. I had to stop and wipe it out 4 or 5 times. There were shells and **** in there.

Not neccesarily.. and like I said I was just brainstorming. Maybe they're just delaying the call for more gasoline, stretching it if you will. That gas station will always get business. Hell I'll ask a cashier next time lol so we'll all know.

As a boater for almost 40 years, 30 mins for 300 gallons really isn't that bad at all in my opinion. The shitty fuel sucks, though. We had a cabin cruiser growing up, I've been around docks and refueling my whole life--it takes a minute to fill up large tanks of fuel.

LOL. I had to drive around a broken Tesla today with flashers on, a bad place to go dead or whatever.
