100% on topic and has been discussed by me many times. Tesla is using the same inference computer and AI training stack for Optimus and vehicles. Camera vision in, decide, movement out. The underlying tech is exactly the same. Optimus uses the same battery cells as Tesla cars among other commonalities.

How is a robot handing out popcorn a vehicle? This is the Electric VEHICLE Technical Discussion group. I simply responded to what you posted with my thoughts on the content of it.

That would have been on topic in the Tesla News and Business thread.

robotic technology builds modern cars. technology is a massive part of car design and testing them before they're even built. optimization alone for aerodynamics for example is pretty much all done by computers and simulations. bye bye clay models and most giant wind tunnel use.

do you enjoy amazon shipments? their warehouses now use MILLIONS of robotic vehicles (that are obviously not like people cars but still they move stuff) for fulfillment.

all this tech is connected, related, and a spiral of recursive innovation that is unstoppable. mwahahaha,...

here we go with the 'you don't have kids' again. no not my offspring but i've mentored and helped and help tons of kids and young adults, including the big brothers program.
since you don't have any idea, let me suggest something for you and your kids. learn something about ai together. there's TONS of free information and tools out there. the tools won't eliminate the need for people who know how to use them any time soon. as the industrial revolution swept into existence (it was fast!) i bet there were tons of people saying they had no idea how to adapt to the change.
despite henry ford REVOLUTIONIZING manufacturing and destroying the horse and buggy industry, his companies created jobs, new industries, new opportunities, and on and on.

On the surface this all looks exciting, but when you really dig deeper and look at how it’s going to impact “my people”, it’s way less exciting.
whether you're excited or not, it's happening, so maybe best to see how to take advantage of it all and not just say 'oh well' and get swept away.

I get it, but there is just a human side to this that is going to face a much harder life because of this progress and find ot hard personally to be real excited about it when I also understand that. Do I use Amazon? Yes. Do I like the concept of Amazon and the way it has put so many businesses down? No I really don’t.

And tying this back to vehicles is a huge stretch lol

It’s the truth. You don’t understand the responsibility and concern of a parent until you are a parent. I was once not a parent, and now I am a parent. You are not a parent. It’s not something that you can fully understand unless you become one yourself. Ask any parent. Ultimately there is nobody else on the earth you are fundamentally responsible for but you. For a parent that’s not true. We have things we have to worry about that go beyond the span of our lives. I never understood that before I was a parent. It’s a biologically driven drive.

So yeah when I look at these things I worry about what life will be like for my kids, how will they make their way in the world without me and without the same opportunities I had. It was harder for me already than it was for my parents for the same reason. This also affects me. Will I be able to earn the living I need to earn alongside this human replacing technology to support them and set them up in life the way I was set up? I honestly don’t know. It’s not about me, I will die in a Medicaid home no problem it’s about them.

Im not a technophobe or an anti-progress guy, but it’s not all sunshine and roses. It’s going to take people’s jobs away by your own admission. That doesn’t excite me.
