LC500 has re entered the discussion. I wonder if you traded your Lexus for a BMW would you ever look back? My guess is no you wouldn’t. I am reading a lot of members say that there is life outside of Lexus.

Makes total sense that a 3 Series feels pedestrian compared to an LS. This isn’t really an issue of BMW vs Lexus it’s an issue of flagship vs entry level car.

It’s very, very hard to retreat from the flagship level.

Right now, I’m all over the place lol. Someday I want a G20 M340 but someday, I want the G30 540i. And now I’m thinking maybe the G60 540i.
I don’t know. At this point, I saw a couple of G30 on the road and thought, mehhhh! They look pretty pedestrian. And when I saw the tail lights of an LS500 at night, it clicked with me right away. There’s something with the design language of a Lexus that speaks to me. I’m just not very happy with their sedan line up and engine choices.

BTW, how hard is it to find a G30 540i with ventilated seats? And 360 degrees camera? I’m really surprised with the lack of ventilated seats in BMW.
Have you driven a LS500? Interested to hear your thoughts on it.

🫣 All it takes is the right model. LS500 may be it for him.

It took me a while to find mine with ventilated seats. I have the 360 degree camera as well but don't remember how many of the cars I looked at had it. The issue is that most BMW buyers are leasing the cheapest 5 series they can so they don't option them up

One other thing about the ventilated seats.... They're not as great on BMW. I find mine don't really seem to cool me that much, however they do keep you dry which is a plus.

Some ventilated seats push air, others pull it. These pull it.

Can the Auto Stop/Start feature be turned off permanently? Or do I have to turn it off everytime I get into the car?
When I test drove the ‘22 540i, this feature kicked on and I asked the sales guy and his answer was kind of and I can get it programmed to not have it enable but it wasn’t a confident yes.

Agree with you there, at least on my X7, but the worst ventilated seats I’ve had was a 2016 IS350. Best was a 2018 Durango that pulled air. In between was my LS460/600 I had back in 2012 time frame.

The ventilated seats on my IS 500 are also not great, but it's better than not having them lol. Neither of my wife's BMWs have been available with them. If you want leather in a 3-series or X3, apparently, you can't have that with ventilation. Silly...

Actually, I don't think I've ever experienced a BMW ventilated seat. Maybe I'll get lucky and get into a loaner vehicle that has them.

Maybe in bimmercode where you can make other changes as well like default to sport mode which I believe automatically disables start/stop.

My 2024 X3 has both leather and ventilated seats. I special ordered it and was able to select both. Like with your IS 500, they're OK and better than not having them. This time of the year I like to run both the heat and ventilated seats for a nice even heat.

It can be in my 17, but not in later cars.

Strange. I've been making a lot of small mistakes today, I'll just chalk this up as a today-thing. Maybe I got confused because it was optional, and we didn't check that box.
