That’s not one of my favorite old Mercedes interiors, nothing wrong with it. I do like the old W124 S Classes but the old MBs the interiors are my least favorite part.
Why would driving that in the winter not be abusing it but driving my car is lol
The 190 isn’t $100k car I don’t believe as opposed to your S class.
I’ve always had a “beater”. I really never put a lot of thought into what kind of beater especially in the beginning. I think 12yrs ago I had a ‘96 Accord EX coupe 5spd as a beater. Bought it for $1600. I believe it had 170k-180k miles when I bought it. I even took it on roadtrips out of town with the guys.
When it turned over 200k. Starter eventually started going bad. Had to push pop clutch a couple times to start it🤣 Never replaced the starter. Otherwise good car. No leaks. Even the sunroof still worked. Came with a 10 inch sub and aftermarket chrome wheels and the factory wheels and 2 spare tires for the chrome wheels. I know you said you don’t have the garage space. This Accord never saw my garage. 🤣 It’s a beater.

The black one was the one I was asking about lol. classic AMG E isn’t a beater.
And I wish the S Class was only $100k
I just don’t believe in buying cars I am afraid to drive. It’s just a thing, a rapidly depreciating thing that won’t be worth any more in 3 years if I didn’t drive it in the winter. I take good care of it because I value the condition of my cars, but getting them dirty doesn’t hurt them.
It’s sitting sparkling clean in the garage right now

Don’t have to be afraid to drive it but it can stay sparkling clean until the weather clears up with a beater.
I don’t like to waste my washes 🧼 and try to stretch them out as long as I can.

It was raining today so we took the Tundra to church. Took 34 gallons to fill it up today. I think this last tank was the first tank it hasn’t had a trailer on it at some point. I washed the X7 yesterday so it’s nice and clean in the garage until tomorrow when the sun will be back out. Have another dance competition coming. Not sure if we’re taking the Tundra or X7.
Wild card, may see what Toyota dealer has for rent if the price isn’t crazy…maybe a new sequoia or LC.

Its always a bummer to get the car dirty when its nice and clean, but by doing that you're not enjoying the car you're paying a lot of money for. I'm paying almost $500 a week to have that car sitting there in the garage, and I'm gonna drive it as much as I can. If you're afraid to get it dirty you're afraid to drive it.
Driving some cheap car that I don't like makes zero sense to me when the car I love is sitting there at $500 a week lol. Now I will admit if its freshly washed and I am just running to the store and its raining and will be nice tomorrow, I will take the van.
I don’t just not have garage space, I would have to park it out in front of my house on the street and I don’t want some ugly car parked in front of my house all the time lol

I enjoy the car when I can . Can’t do that in crappy weather with no traction. When I’m in the Supra, I leave red lights like I’m a Tesla driver 🤪 I’m the driver who drives around damp spots and water puddles. 🫣
and
🤣🤣 at ugly car sitting on the street. Speaking of ugly, my daughter HATES riding in the Prius. I showed her a picture of the new Prius and she said she likes it until I told her it was the Prius. I think she hates the word Prius.
Almost forgot and I understand having an expensive car sitting in the garage. Besides the issues of the new Tundra powerplant, I couldn’t justify spending almost $80k on a brand new Tundra for it to sit parked. I average maybe 2 miles per week in my Tundra unless I’m towing to the track until recently I started driving it one day per week to dance rehearsal because one of my daughter’s friends carpools with us.

I don’t recall seeing a 190 in person. Only on forza and Grand Turismo.
You wouldn’t drive this?
paging @AJT123@Striker223 I bet even @LeX2K would. I know 1 person on here that wouldn’t. He will chime in shortly.
yes please!!! i also don't think i've seen a 190 evo in person, the regular 190 yes but not the homologation DTM car
it's funny in gran turismo the 190 evo ii street version kinda drives like crap, very wayward and fishtailing car... but the actual racing version drives amazingly! handles great in that nurburgring license test
this is a work of art in my opinion. do you agree?
those era benz interiors just give the impression that one could be found buried in the desert 100 years from now and still be largely functional... that was the time when luxury meant toughness and solidity, not just how much gimmicky crap can we throw in, i agree those interiors will always be relevant

Speaking about Tesla, last night my wife and I went with her brother to drop off her aunt in Oakland, which is about a 40 minute drive from his house. I found out, he uses FSD full time (he has a 2024 Model Y). I mean, it's his driver. He's talking away, and the car is just doing it's thing. It maneuvered through some of the worst, narrow streets, and even moved out of the way of a tailgater. It even handled speed bumps like a pro. I asked him if he ever gets nervous, and he said no, even if it makes some minor mistake, it figures it out. Now he can't live without it. I mean, it's crazy good right now if you have a Tesla with HW v4.
I hope I don't run into a Supra at a light, because I'm probably going to be just a little bit tempted, as you know, curiosity killed the cat 😜
You and @SW17LS are torturing these nice vehicles. Need winter beaters.
I have a beater......I honestly don't want to drive it anymore. Drove it for a decade and it's so nice to just use a real car constantly there is a major block to me going back to that.
The S4 became the daily when I got it and due to the clutch dying I've just been back to using the D4s (mostly the 12) instead of the Jeep. Before the S4 it was already slipping into a 2:3 split in favor of the cars.
Plus my car is all aluminum, with crazy amounts of under shields and every single bolt is fully coated. It won't rust and I don't even touch it to wash it so I won't ruin my correction work, the ceramic does its job perfectly.
Even my non-aluminum Germans don't rust, the Jetta has 345k on it and only had the fenders rust as ALL MK4s do from the stupid foam blocks in there. None of body other than that has anything wrong somehow.

I haven’t played in a while but want to say the tuned 190 I downloaded on Forza handles like it’s on rails. It was one of my go to cars for handling.

Unless you see the rear end of the Supra squatting before the light turns green I believe you will beat it to 60 or so. Stock they aren’t fast imo. Somewhat quick but not fast.

I just cringe whenever I see the pics of your and @SW17LS nice cars in the snow.

You have a little bit of this, a little bit of that. You just need an EV to complete the circle🙃
