Tesla Insurance is available in the following states:
Arizona
California
Colorado
Illinois
Maryland
Minnesota
Nevada
Ohio
Oregon
Texas
Utah
Virginia
Tesla insurance will probably be offered there eventually. They are not actually an insurance company, policies are underwritten by an insurance company that partners with them. They have to integrate with Tesla's system, as everything is managed through the Tesla app
Tesla insurance monitors driving habits right? When I was trying to get into the early FSD trial, I had to use the monitoring to see if I was safe enough to use FSD. It kept dinging me for unsafe following distance when entering a roundabout and I have 3 roundabouts on my way to work. Dropped me to like low 90s / high 80s and I hated it.

Absolutely not. You have to opt in for monitoring. If I allowed them to monitor my driving, they would raised my rates a long time ago 🤣. Actually, they lowered my rate this renewal, which is a first!
They cannot use the monitoring to affect rates in California. It goes against some law we have...but I don't know how come because I thought only traditional insurance companies allow people to plug into the dongle to monitor and affect rates

Awesome, thanks for clarifying guys! Allstate keeps asking me to let them track via the app and I always respectfully decline
So this is where I lay some criticisms Tesla's way. Because the door handles are flush with the body (for aero reasons), if the car is a dark color like mine, you can't see the handles at night if it's dark. The simple solution which even my Polestar had was a small light that illuminates the handle when you approach. Our Ioniq 5 will also extend the handle out. No such luck with the Models 3 and Y, it's either third party lights, or glow in the dark covers. Luckily it's a cheap and quick fix:

Good workaround!👍
You realize the Elon cultists are going to be all over this blasphemous post right?

Why even have that nosy app on your phone? Is it worth it? There are also other apps that try to track you and sell your driving data. This reddit says Life360, MyRadar, and GasBuddy. I think any app that knows your location could put you at risk.

I've noticed that crinkly charging cord in more than one pic you've posted and its disturbing. What do you store it on when not in use? Your wife's hair curling thingy?
