Its no more useless than any other screen that just shows speed, music etc lol. Thats all a center screen would show.

I think Bits comment about its lack of usefulness is simply because it's not showing anything that isn't already on the center screen

Thats going to be true of any instrument panel screen behind the wheel. All of that info is in the center screen, if you want a screen in the center theres going to be redundant info.

That screen does also include Apple CarPlay...

I still find it inexplicable that Tesla does away with the driver display on the 3 and Y, but offers no head up display.

Personally I think only the S and X should get a HUD, no need on the Y or 3 which are appliances.

In other news, cracked roof glass

I heard something fall on the roof, I thought it was just bird poop. Must have been some poop . You can see the impact area

bummer amirza
will insurance cover that? gonna be ‘spensive.

about a driver’s screen behind the wheel… on the S and X is absolutely does not show the same info only as the center screen. on the S and X the driving/monitoring display (cars, roads, pedestrians, bikes, etc) is shown on the screen behind the wheel INSTEAD OF the center screen. this frees up loads of space on the center screen that normally uses about a 1/3 for that driving/monitoring display.

Yes, insurance will cover it, I'll probably file a claim next month. Unfortunately I have a $1000 deductible 😕

How does that even happen? Did a rock kick up that high and land on your roof?

Well sure, on the S and X the screen doesn't have the same info because its designed to have the center IP screen. If you want that information in front of you though like I do thats what the add on screen is for. Not as good as the setup in the S and X but it gives you a IP screen if thats what one wants.

I have no idea. I was stopped at a light, I heard a loud thump sound. There were a lot of seagulls flying around that area, so I thought one of them delivered a load . I have no idea what hit the roof, but from the impact sight it was heavy enough to crack the roof
