I don't pay much attention to Regular Car Reviews anymore but this was a really well-made look into Jaguar's current predicament and likelihood of failure.
Jaguar reliability always frightened me but I I loved Jaguar design and their powertrains. Their race pedigree, historic models like the E-Type, D-Type, XJ line etc. A pretty cool company poorly managed in it's later years.

despite having nothing to do with any jag before or since its creation, the XJ220 remains one of my all time favorite favourite cars... the XJR-15 as well is just completely crazy and so uncompromisingly hardcore
the original XJ is also a timelessly beautiful design and could even be had with that distinctive jaguar V12
European regulations will most likely end all of those small volume storied brands.
I was in Goodwood this summer and half of the show was basically marketing for Chinese EV cars.
Brands like MG and Lotus are now just rebranded Chinese EVs.
Jaguar should have repositioned its self a long time ago to be in the realm of Aston Martin and Bentley. Instead it was trying to compete with MB / BMW with horrible quality.
Its sad that same ownership group has managed Range Rover to great success but really did a poor job guiding Jaguar.

Jaguar has so many Amazing designs thoughout their history- way more than most brands. The E type and recent F type prior to facelift are some of the greatest.

I think they've always done well with styling.
They have the styling skills, oh yeah.
I’ll chime in here since I actually own a Jag. Many of the comments above are spot on and I do think Jag is taking an enormous risk with the “gap” year strategy. My wife’s 2021 XF has been a pleasure to own and is a well balanced sports sedan with wonderful driving manners, enough power and handles the twisties with confidence. The rush to electrification by most of the big manufacturers has been premature for the majority of owners. Having been an early adopter in certain parts of my life, I understood the risk involved with that and I would think many EV owners accepted some of the limitations with their decision. Owning both a sedan and a station wagon I am an outlier for sure given the popularity of SUVs. I hope Jag survives, I’ve always appreciated the brands sense of style and uniqueness. Nothing lasts forever and certainly history is littered with brands once loved and now extinct. I guess time will tell. Grateful I got a chance to own at least one Jag in my lifetime. Enjoy the weekend all!
