Yes, it was 9-10 years ago now lol. We've been back just about a decade.

Junk, but these were fast. An automatic one of those (not sure exact what year but that body) did 0-60 in 6.1 seconds which is crazy for an 80s car especially with an 80s slush box transmission..

Quicker than the manual, because the auto got the 350 while the manual was stuck with the 305.

That's odd, I never knew that.
If I remember the Mustang GT had the same engine in both the auto and the stick.

A really rare find these days might be a "Smokey and the Bandit", Pontiac Trans Am with the 6.6 liter.

I think it was a 3speed auto, too. I've never driven any car with only a 3 speed but I'm guessing first gear would take you to 60.

I was stunned when I saw that 0-60 time of that low. I want to say it was a mid 80s year.

r.
They did, the 5.0 was 225hp and 300lb/ft. That's a healthy torque figure for 1988. 90s Mustang GTs made less power.

I liked those boxy Camaro's as a kid. I didn't like the ones that followed it.

I find the design more sleek than boxy, but it's definitely from the 1980s lol.

I'm sure these were a hoot to drive, the fast ones at least.

Nice.

BTW everyone, the LFA was enough to give Lexus tier 1 status IMO. It cost over $400,000.

The best car they ever built. Now it's mostly 2.4L Turbocharged engines that rattle

The only Lexus I truly desire these days is the LC. Which is built like a tank.

I checked out the Lexus LX600 while I was there. I still love the Toyota body on frame SUVs. Too bad no V8...but it still has a rock solid frame, FT4WD, and a unique interior you can't get in any Lexus. The GX is pretty awesome too. something interesting I like about the LX is that it is still so basic in many ways, the gas door is still cable operated, no fancy door pulls like the electric RZ or NX and RX ...

If I ever bought a Lexus, it would only be an IS350, RCF, LCF, or LC500. If I ever decided I needed something like an RX350, I wouldn't get anything past a 2022, which was the last year for the 3.5L V6
