General Car Conversation 2024 - part 2
🤣🤣🤣🐂y
If you find yourself next to a ‘15 LX 570 at a stop light be prepared to smoke it. It may be @AJT123 behind the wheel and if you’re asleep at the light, we might hear about it on here.🤣🤣🤣🤣

I'd joke with friends in the car and be like "watch this" and get smoked for a good laugh though.
@BayeauxLex
Your Tundra is quicker than my LX off the line, but up at highway speeds it's more even. It sounds absolutely amazing.

You generally know when someone wants to race, the signs are obvious. They try to pass you before the lane merges. They pull from behind you to next to you at a light. They lunge forward before the light changes. They stay on your tail on the freeway, they pass you at dangerous speeds after you've already beaten them, etc etc etc.
Just to be clear, I don't race, and I don't advocate racing, unless it's on a track. Occasionally I do a friendly light to light or beat someone before a lane merge etc, but other than that, I mind my own business. If I do an occasional friendly light to light and see the other party is becoming a danger, I back out and give them the win, putting myself or others in danger is where where I draw the line.
When you see me posting about racing, It's just me playing around with my friend @BayeauxLex and vice versa. Street racing is for kids, I just turned 57, I don't really have time for that nonsense

I wasn’t criticizing you and tailgaters/aggressive drivers are commonplace here in Santa Ana, but probably everywhere else too.I am very proud of those who passed me on the on-ramp when I merged left because the right lane of the two lane on-ramp was ending and they passed me on the right using the right shoulder (btw CA freeway on-ramps have yellow speed limit signs which means that’s the suggested speed and I am usually going a bit faster so it’s not like I am poking along). I am always impressed by them when they do that, bu5 I would prefer it if they could find a way to drive and not kick up windshield breaking debris in the process.
I found LA drivers to be competent and sort of friendly even. In LA there are no left turn signals at most lights, so 3-4 cars always have to wait to turn left and run the yellow then red light. It's understood, cops were fine with it. People would wave when you'd let them in or out I noticed. I just remember not having any problems with LA drivers over those 2 years. Now LA traffic is a different story haha. I still have nightmares.

Of course I know that. Even on the closest gap it leaves too much room. I don't "want to tailgate" people, but I don't want people to pass me on the right and keep filling that gap in either, I also want slower traffic ahead of me to move right (which very few of them do anymore, but some do). It sits back so far those people don't realize they are holding me up.
