I hear y'all, I'm not saying you guys are wrong but it's not just the tires. It's the whole drive. The truck feels like a giant boulder, has claws even on all seasons--when it snowed 10 inches last winter there was nothing I couldn't conquer. I passed so many 4x4s at the bottom or halfway up hills. I like riding high up and knowing it weighs 6200lbs, so that's just personal taste. I'm sure on winter tires it would be absolutely positively unstoppable, but it already pretty much is even without them lol. The Torsen diff and A-Trac work very, very well in the snow. If you really need it Crawl Control is amazing as well.
I will tell you guys though, I am not used to this 5 degree weather so when we got up here I got paranoid that everything was black ice because it has snowed 5-6 inches here. I know how to drive in the snow fine, but bone chilling 5 degree temps where EVERYTHING in sight is frozen solid I'm not so used to. It got dark and everything looked like black ice, or the dark road against the salt made it seem that way.
Also, I got into a little race with a few 2.0t crossovers, or at least surprised the hell out of them. One was a Lincoln another a BMW. I'm wondering if these mainstream turbo vehicles lose some of their pep up top. Has anyone experienced this? Mainstream vehicles, I don't mean a dedicated performance car.. LX dusted them both even when they had a head start trying to pass me on the right like jackasses. And no, I don't drive slow in the left lane.

Yes, their cars were floored I would bet money on. It wasn't a knock down drag race but yes it was fun. People do this stuff all the time. After the road cleared out I etched past the BMW which was still accelerating but then I slowed down at 115ish. I could smell his exhaust as I was coming up on him before passing him. We looked at each other. It was a race.
And that's not even what I'm getting at, I suspect that mainstream small turbo motors run out of juice at higher speeds. Whatever it was I'm sure it was a 2.0t because I'd get beaten easily if it was a more performance oriented Bimmer, I wouldn't even try. And I'm wondering some of your opinions on my little theory about 2.0ts.
Edit: It had to have been an X3 2.0t which has a 0-60 time similar to my truck 6.4 seconds. So it's decently quick. But I do wonder about it running out of steam up high like I've been saying bc he wasn''t expecting to get passed haha.
I’m convinced you floor it leaving every red light!!🤣🤣
I have a 2.0T that would like a shot.
Every 09-15 LX 570 I come across, I’m going to assume it’s you and I’m going to give it the beans!! 🤣🤣
I’ve had three Toyota 5.7 V8s and they aren’t that fast, to me at least. It may seem/sound like you’re going fast but imo they do enough to get out of its own way. They would fall under the reliable column
I’ve attached a video of my ‘08 stock Tundra 5.7 on factory 20s with around 90kish miles on the odometer. 0-90mph. I have 4.30 gears which I think should get out of the hole quicker than your LX of course without spinning

Lol nobody said my LX is a dragster, but it's got some beans up top for what it is....it's geared well to where third takes you to 100. I don't gun it around town at home, not really.
That was definitely a 2.0t lol, the 6 cylinder X3 does 0-60 in 4.1 seconds. That would have been like a meteor passing me by haha.

I have never experienced radar cruise BTW.
You’re a red light bully 🐂 like @AMIRZA786 🤣🤣 but I think you pick on cars you know you can beat. 😏 Like to hear you challenge an Ecoboost Expedition🙃
Similarly sized vehicles but one with a V6 TT engine. 😏
I remember when we had our MDX sh-AWD and like you, a guy at the light in a minivan wanted to live his life a 1/4 mile at a time. So when the light turned green and I saw the nose of the minivan slightly rise up and I heard whatever engine he had rev (maybe a pentastar I don’t recall just remember it had sliding doors) me having AWD I gave the MDX the beans just so he wouldn’t go home and jump on a forum and type how he just smoked a MDX in his wife’s minivan. During that time period if I was first at a red light in my Tundra I would disable all nannies in case the soccer mom next to me was feeling 🐸y

It would beat me handily. But still, the power delivery you have to get used to. There is noticeable turbo lag in a Ford Ecoboost 3.5. NA is so much better. But hell no I wouldn't race an Expedition lol.

100+ is certainly intentional on their part, almost all the turbo 4s run out up top as consequence of the low end response priority and housing size limitations.

Man you’re bringing back memories. I loved our MDX!! 🥺
they were great! for my money (well, at the time my parents money lol) the 2013 w/ advance pkg was the best one they ever did, that was a genuinely premium feeling product with the sort of tech you'd find available in a X5 or ML benz... for 2014 they started the trend of getting closer to honda+ and with the replacement of the good 6 speed with the crappy ZF 9 speed in 2016 the relationship was over as far as i was concerned
my mercedes is a hybrid too! the supercharger pulley is on a magnetic clutch which is disengaged in normal situations... so it's half naturally aspirated and half forced induction lol

Someone called my name? Listen, if you are driving a Camry, Accord, Civic or Altima and are dumb enough to challenge me at a light, what can I say? 🤣

I don’t race anyone and sometimes the conquests I read about are situations where the other driver didn’t know/care that the person next to them thought it was a competition. I do boot it to get around the lingering Prius, RAV4, or CRV because drivers of those vehicles frequently fail to grasp the concept that getting on the freeway going 40 mph doesn’t cut it. It’s unsafe. Sometimes it’s a different vehicle with more hp and if they’re texting and poking, I get by them with the element of surprise. Sometimes, they blow by me and cut me off to show their superiority. I didn’t pass them as a contest or to be a jackass. I passed them because the Civic’s 40 to 70 mph performance is far from impressive and merging at 40 mph onto a freeway is challenging. If the one I pass happens to be driving an Altima, Charger, or Challenger, they frequently make sure to show me their prowess. All that power so why not use it on the on-ramp instead of being a putz?

You generally know when someone wants to race, the signs are obvious. They try to pass you before the lane merges. They pull from behind you to next to you at a light. They lunge forward before the light changes. They stay on your tail on the freeway, they pass you at dangerous speeds after you've already beaten them, etc etc etc.
Just to be clear, I don't race, and I don't advocate racing, unless it's on a track. Occasionally I do a friendly light to light or beat someone before a lane merge etc, but other than that, I mind my own business. If I do an occasional friendly light to light and see the other party is becoming a danger, I back out and give them the win, putting myself or others in danger is where where I draw the line.
When you see me posting about racing, It's just me playing around with my friend @BayeauxLex and vice versa. Street racing is for kids, I just turned 57, I don't really have time for that nonsense

If you find yourself next to a ‘15 LX 570 at a stop light be prepared to smoke it. It may be @AJT123 behind the wheel and if you’re asleep at the light, we might hear about it on here.🤣🤣🤣🤣
