I know my F-150 does it and I'm pretty sure my Fusion did as well.

Follow-up on this, the BMW does NOT do it. Huh.

WRT to headlights, I notice people driving without headlights on at night all the time here in Vegas, though I haven't noticed a pattern of which brands/models are more common. I just assume it's trashier people. Part of the problem is back when I was growing up, you knew your lights were on or off because your instrument panel was or wasn't lit up with them. Now all the clusters are constantly illuminated, so if you grew up driving on older cars you could think your headlights are on.

I always keep them set to Auto. I have the DRL's turned on in the BMW because I like how they look. I have them disabled in my truck because they look terrible.

One quirk I've noticed after owning the BMW for a few months is that the trunk button seems to be the one button on the FOB that is extra sensitive. I'll go outside and find the trunk open and wonder how long it was open. Good thing I don't keep anything valuable in there.

Oh yeah! I totally forgot a quirk that drives me absolutely insane!

My W12 has a "swing leg to open" function for the trunk and it NEVER FREAKING WORKS CORRECTLY. It's so bad I actually repressed it from memory, it never actually works when I want it to and I'm swinging my leg around like a moron trying and then when I DONT want it to open when I'm just walking past it opens.

I coded it off.

Some of those Kick-Under-Bumper trunk releases work only if you swing your leg in a certain way or direction.

And it doesn't always have to be one's leg. Some of them will work for senior citizens even if one just swings a cane under the bumper.

None of these work well. I have had them on multiple vehicles and they work 30-40% of the time.

Both of my cars have the kick to open feature and they work for me 99% of the time with no issues. One is a tailgate and the other is a trunk. My wife has given up on using them.

Please PLEASE do not put LEDs in housings designed for halagons! They look terrible and will blind oncoming drivers. Also they sometimes flicker..
Embrace the warm halogen glow!

For the F150 there are lots of plug and play whole new lamp housings for upgrades to LED that won’t have any of those problems.

I have to agree. I have had halogens for many years, and have never had any problem with them. And they are a lot cheaper to replace if they burn out or fail.

They are adequate. Doesn’t mean newer technology isn’t far superior.

I would never put LED bulbs in a halogen housing but I would absolutely buy a new housing designed for leds as an upgrade.

I’ll never drive another car at night again with halogens if I can help it.

Updated housing are cheap and easy to install but make sure they are actually good, a lot of the aftermarket stuff has way too dramatic a cutoff line to the point you can't see anything at all over it.

I do not change what my cars came with other than the most powerful bulbs possible and aim adjustments. My LED cars are by far the best and have insane features as part of their arrays
