I just had a Pacifica rental for the week while in Florida. So pokey and the transmission was…not helpful. I want to try out the PHEV one of these days. I’m sure it’s a better drivetrain.
The PHEV is dramatically better. The transmission alone is a game changer for the vehicle because that 9 speed is so terrible.

Ive had 5 FCA/Stellantis vehicles, 2 were terrible 3 have been fine. Would I recommend one? If it’s a mature design sure. An all new design? No
Not necessarily. The Dodge Charger and Challenger, unlike most of the rest of the Stellntis lineup, have indeed become reliable lately. Their platform and components have been in production so long that most of the bugs and issues have been worked out.
Definitely a good point and I actually thought of that after I posted. They have been the same for a very long time.
Plus Challenger is still on the W210 MB platform IIRC. That's old but rock solid.
Not quite sure I follow you, Striker......you live in Ohio, but are using a shop in Texas?
As stated they are a performance shop that offers a magnitude of after market parts for various platforms ford gm dodge etc. They had built the motor for the worlds fastest stick shift corvette a few years ago.
That's just cool lol nothing crazy either 272/282 did you tune it or reflash the stock computer?
This is immediately after a base tune reflash, engine was built for more revs and a slightly higher CR etc etc since the owner blew up the stock bottom end. He didn't want the usual stage 4 cam for some reason so he bought that one, I usually recommend the max NA cam since it's a known 380whp combo.
Its on him now to take it somewhere for proper custom tuning
Knowing that Stellantis owns Peugeot, a brand we have not seen in over 30 years in the United States, I was well aware of it when I lived south of the border. Beautiful designs but a pain in the *** for repairs.
thanks for the heads up but i'm already wayyyy ahead of you here lol... in fact pretty much nothing they make at the moment interests me even assuming it'll be totally reliable
also my favorite french car at the moment (renault clio) actually isn't a stellantis! citroen and peugeot are however, but i have no desire for one of these
I'm super interested in the future of Stellantis. We have yet to see a brand new post-Stellantis formation product in the U.S. The new Charger will be the first in line and will be a bit of a moment of truth.
The new hornet is junk the stalks feel like dollar store plastic, very flimsy, the transmission is also dim witted and clunky. It is the same as some Alpha Romeo just dodge written on it. They are really trying to push hornets, stellantis "found" 25 new demon 170's and is raffling them off to stores that sell hornets in December.
