I've heard a lot of criticism about BMW's styling on newer models.
I'll admit, I too have been a critic.

Saw this BMW 540I today in Silly Putty Gray with goofy grill, odd styling, and WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON thoughts in my head.

Then it dawned on me, BMW is NOT trying to be like anyone else, they are their own style and don't give a dam what anyone else thinks.

It's in this context I stood back and admired the beauty of this machine!

 

 

That’s a BMW X7 not a 540i lol. 540i is a sedan.

 

That's not a 540i. That's an X7 in Brooklyn Gray.

 

The sad part is the X7 is one of the better looking new BMWs.

As bad as the exterior is, the interior design with Idrive 8 is even more atrocious.

 

Ok, I need to up my prescription on my glasses. Lol

There was a red & chrome badge on the trunk hatch and I swear I saw 540I. Lol

So what I really saw, I don't know. Lol

Is the car ridiculous or tasteful or eccentric or what is it?

It's different, that's all I know.

But, I'm trying to appreciate it for what it is.

 

pretty much like bmw drivers.

 

I don't love the split headlights look, especially with that M-Sport trim. But I don't think it's ridiculous.

 

Most innovative design since the 1992 Buick Skylark.

 

I think it looks better in non M Sport trim

I don't hate it, but I don't love it either.
