Personally, although I admit that, (as with many other automakers), the grilles are too large, I don't think today's BMWs look as bad as some of the "Bangle-Butt" BMWs of the early 2000s. And don't even get me started on those original I-Drive screens LOL.

I was thinking that myself. Since then I haven’t really been a fan of their styling. Still such a personal thing, some love it, certainly I’ve seen much worse over the years. Aztec anyone?

While I’m not a fan of Bangle designs, he had a unique philosophy and the cars were designed cohesively.
The new designs from BMW are just gimmicks with no rhyme or reason.
The pig nose M4 is by far the worst design of all.
Modern BMW designs are just so ugly... ever since they started with the awful buck tooth/pig nose grilles and tacked on Ipad screens, I've lost all interest in ever owning one.
Now we have a glimpse into what their cars might look like in the future for EVs and it's not looking pretty either IMO.

Bangle wasn’t the lead designer on that car. Bangle got all the blame, but the designer was Adrian van Hooydonk. Who ironically now has Bangle’s old job.

Oh man, so you're saying the lead designer takes the fall and the one who should've got the ax gets his job.
Wow, how stuff like that happens I don't know. Crazy. Lol
I saw an X7 today with the prior style of headlights - I still like that better. Same with the 7 Series. I'm glad BMW has not been doing the split headlights across the board.
That looks nice. I like the non-M Sport X5 better too. They're both selling well. The last time I checked the X5 was outselling the X3 which is unusual.

Yep, that’s broadly the long and the short of it. And he wasn't the designer for the other car he got most flak for, the E60 5 Series, That also had a different lead designer.
