V8 to return to C and E AMG models...
Lots of people care, they care about V8s as much as you care about EVs. I certainly do. It's no accident that new Yukon has the 6.2 in it. It's no Model S, but my god you should see and hear and feel how it moves. Seriously impressive engine. It even surprised my GM hating Porsche snob friend on a pull up to 115 on an on-ramp.
), I would either own something today with TT V6 or V8. Nothing lessFor instance I can buy whatever I want and I’m in the market for a GLS, I have no intention on getting a 580. Would I rather have the 580? Yes but it’s not worth $25,000 to me in that vehicle where I’m not going to be the primary driver and my wife doesn’t care.

Most people just don’t care about cars like we do. There is also a difference between wanting something and wanting to pay for it even if you can.

I don't totally disagree with this but I think there are more enthusiasts than you think. We are still the minority, though. Someone can "not care" and still really be into cars. Lots of people in my family are that way. It wasn't just me that thought it had to be a Denali for the biggest V8.
Anyway I've said this before, I hope V8's continue to live on. As far as Mercedes is concerned, if the demand is there and they are profitable, Mercedes and others will continue to sell them
Why can’t we have it all - Hybrids, V8s, EVs, V12s etc.
Its just so silly - like saying you can eat vegetables but not ice cream, drink water but not beer, eat fish but no burgers.
Always better for free market to decide!

I totally agree with you @RNM GS3 . Market should decide. Californians are pretty much deciding. I don't have the exact numbers but the three top selling cars by rank are:
1) Tesla Model Y
2) Tesla Model 3
3) Toyota RAV4
For the RAV4, I don't know the breakdown between Hybrid and non-hybrids, but my guess is these are mostly hybrids because of the higher cost of gas here, and better power/performance from the hybrid drivetrain.
Will this trend reverse? I have no idea. If it does, than I'm fine with it, as long as I don't have to go back to a 4 cylinder. No freaking way

So you're saying someone who can afford a Model S or X, a 5 Series, or a something similar can't afford a V8? Most tech workers are paid extremely well here. I think not buying a V8 is because most people don't care. People specifically live here (silicone valley) because of the amount of opportunities to make money and build wealth. That and the weather
It also depends on where you live. In our Texas office, the native Texans like giant trucks and big SUV'S, but in the Bay area they like Model Y's, Rav4's, and Lexus hybrids. Sienna and Odyssey's are the family trip cars. Here it's the blue collar workers that drive the bigger trucks. In SoCal, the more east you go like Riverside and San Bernardino counties, the bigger the trucks and SUVs.

Both my friends thought 4 cyl was all they would ever need, until they tried a 6, and then that was enough until they had 8s. Now both want 12s
You never even owned one lol! You have only ever had mid tier cars and mid size engines so you wouldn't understand where people who have owned them are coming from. Most people don't have them and don't know what they are missing.

Believe it or not, 99 percent of people don't care. Really, even if they drove a V8, a TT V6 etc. They don't care. Not everyone is an enthusiast, care about 0 to 60 or quarter mile times. I promise you. Put my wife in a Plaid, and after driving it fast, she won't care one bit and would happily go back to her 138 HP Ioniq EV

That logic makes so much sense 😅. Seriously, what are you trying to prove? I'm really confused here lol. Did I accidentally press some button that set you off? If I did I'm sorry man
