Polestar is the man of the house in that situation.
I love my wife with all my heart, bless her, and to be honest, she does thinks Musk is a little...nuts But she ain't telling me what I'm going to buy or drive. I don't interfere with her furniture and decorations, and she doesn't mess with my car buying. Although she did steal my garage, which I was planning to turn into my man cave 😡

Elon is a little bit crazy but in a good way look at what he's accomplished so far.

If it makes you feel any better the Model Y ain't mine anymore wifey drives it every day and everywhere. She went from EV why do I need that to doesn't want to drive anything else.
Tesla has another recall and you guessed it, done OTA.

I don't know why Hyundai doesn't do regular ota updates, it would have saved me a trip to the dealership to get it installed. It was to fix an issue with Level 2 charging, although I did get a free 22 point inspection and car wash
I don't know why Hyundai doesn't do regular ota updates,
Every car has dozens of modules and microcontrollers Hyundai sources them from many vendors it's not logistically and technically possible to update in the same way Tesla, Rivian and a few others do.

That's probably what's going on because they do OTA infotainment updates, which are usually map or app related.
I do love the car though, but it's priced to high and is only competitive if you lease, which is where you get all the incentives. Also they need to package the hood area better and give it an actual frunk
It still needs work, but from what I hear from many people who use FSD it's getting there. But here's my worry.... using it at night, especially if visibility conditions aren't good. There's a stretch of freeway where they are always doing construction at night, and the lines disappear and they put these temporary reflectors spaced to serve as lines. The freeway is winding and sometimes there's a temporary barrier to the left. I would be nervous to use FSD in that circumstance. Also I notice the front camera gets blinded when the sun is coming down and you are directly facing it. I was driving in that situation and the cars in front of me disappeared from the screen. Once I was no longer facing the settings sun, the cars reappeared on the screen
That's a camera/sensor problem not a software one so I don't worry about it. FSD drives no problem on dirt roads at night no lane lines. Also you're using Autopilot not FSD.

there will always be circumstances where fsd isn't effective or can't proceed. yeah people are going to have to remember how to drive (in the most challenging situations)
about fsd, this is where my motto comes in... 'good enough is good enough'
and when (not if) it's good enough, that will be a stupendous milestone for tesla.

Reason: delving into politics
The discussion on Musk's beliefs/censorship/etc (predictably) turned political and is over. I've pruned the last handful of comments, but did not remove them all.
Move on to other Tesla topics or get booted from the thread.

I get that, and I wasn't talking about Autopilot, I wouldn't use it in that situation that I described (Autopilot). I would be curious how FSD reacts to the stretch of road I described, I might just pay for it for a month to see. Also, I know it's not a software issue
