First off the GLS and X7 have very good third rows, especially the GLS.
My 20 GLS has the 60/40 second row bench. A factor that makes the third row more comfortable is that the second row moves forward/back and the seat back reclines, so it can be adjusted with adults in the third row, still having reasonable leg room in the second row. The first week I had the vehicle, I had two adults in the third row and they were surprised at how comfortable it was (the only time I've used the third row so far). Still not that easy for adults to get in and out of the third.
As an aside, particularly if there are three occupants, moving a section of the second row forward, and straightening up the seat back, makes it very easy to haul golf clubs or any longer items.

How has the reliability been on your GLS? My wife used to want one and my best friend had a GLS and they have sworn off Mercedes after their experience with their GLS. My wife also really likes the X7 but the reliability of it concerns me but it’s a good looking SUV. I like how it has the tailgate function similar to the LX 570.

I've only had it 13 months, and put 11k miles on it. I use it as my daily driver (formerly had 5 MDXs) and road trips. It had 20k miles when I bought it CPO, plus I bought an additional 2 yrs extended warranty, so I am good until Feb 2027. Love it so far. A couple of minor annoyances that software updates resolved. Only equipment issue was with the heated/cooled cupholders (that I don't use anyway) that was repaired during annual service a couple of weeks ago. I know there were initially many 48V battery issues with this generation, but those seemed to have subsided.
I’m actually more disappointed in it than I was before I had seen it in person lol. Plain, ugly in the front, interior is full of crappy plastic, some nice materials above the armrests but the lower doors and lower dash, glovebox are all terrible plastic. Scratchy headliner and cheap plastic A pillars with no padding. Lexus didn’t even put door kick trim on the rear doors, never seen them do that before. On top of that the second and third rows aren’t even that spacious. No wood trim, doesn’t feel luxurious on any level.
Drive is fine, but nothing special at all. All they had were 350s and the 4 cyl powertrain is as you would expect.
No way I would trade the Pacifica for one, Palisade and Telluride in high trims honestly are just as nice or nicer.

I can agree with this assessment. It's a cynical play on Lexus' part.

I don’t want to be that guy but I am when I say that I don’t need to see it in person to be disappointed. From just the pics the TX doesn’t scream Lexus to me and seems more Toyota. This SUV would never be on my radar.
I still really like the styling of it. It's not on our shopping list, but I would consider it if I were in the market. While I understand having some questions about the interior design and materials, I'm surprised you didn't find it larger inside. My personal experience found it to be quite spacious in all three rows. After spending time in it, I walked over and climbed in the 3rd row of a Telluride and it felt very cramped by comparison.
So many missed opportunities here. Horrible that this thing is saddled with econobox powertrains. They should’ve reused the RX 450h powertrain. Smooth and powerful. And no wood grain? in a Lexus luxury SUV? Seriously?

The room is okay, but its not especially spacious.
Bear in mind the Telluride is 7 inches shorter than the TX, IMO the space is similar.
Honestly, without the Lexus badge you would never know this was a Lexus inside...
They'll have a PHEV V6 when the TX 550h+ comes out later this year, but that will be an $80,000+ vehicle which is insane for what you get, and will probably have near-nonexistent volumes like other Toyota PHEV's.
I'm looking at the new LM interior right now and it boggles my mind why Lexus didn't just reuse this masterpiece for the TX or any of their other recent offerings. This is the type of design progression I expected to see after the LS and LC, yet now we're going backwards into the Toyota parts bin.
