Quote: Just installed the Tesla Mobile charger as a backup to our main Electrify Home Level 2 charger. The difference is 11kW 40 amps vs 8 kW 32 amps (both use 220v)

that seems like a very good spot for a charger. i hope it will come as planned. Planned a head like this never worked for me. Things always got delayed when I planned like this in advance.

It's 1000 or bust!!! 👀👀 😁😁

Quote: do you have to always bring it back to ice comparisons when you say 'normally'? and as amirza has said and 99.9% of others drivers would agree, 425hp is MORE than enough for a mid size suv.

My next door neighbor just had a subpanel and outside recpeticle installed today. They have a '19 Model 3 Std Range and just got a Volvo SUV plug in hybrid for his wife.
It is on one circuit, so they cannot charge at the same time. But the work was beautiful.

I already have a full Level 2 charger about 10 feet away to the right, this is only going to be used as a backup charger in case the primary one is in use (we currently have 3 EV's, the Tesla is the 4th). My daughter and I charge about once a week, my daughter charges mostly in the day, so we haven't had to compete so far.

The Y should be coming in anywhere between next week and May 15th. Not an issue if it's delayed for me. As soon as it's in production it will be assigned a VIN, and I'll get paperwork from Tesla to sign and forward to my lender. Once the VIN is assigned, I will have a better idea of when it is arriving

Oh yeah, that looks really good. I love the way the 20" tires look, but I don't like how they feel and drive. I might change out the rims, I'll hit ST up to see if he knows any deals

He also has spacers which makes the wheels look a lot better too. I really like the spoiler too.

Never trust the initial estimate you get when you first place your order. Also keep in mind that the estimate you just got today is also not in stone and can change. Mine just changed from April 30 through May 14 to now May 10 through June 7 LOL

At this point, everyone and their mom's are buying Model Y's . My bet is this year the Model Y will be the number 1 selling car

So the rule about ordering a Tesla (pertains to both Model 3 and Y) is, the delivery estimate you see before ordering (when building your vehicle) is just that...an estimate. You really cannot rely on that. Once you place an order, you get an updated estimate, but even that you cannot rely on. The higher the demand, especially when orders outstrip production, the longer the wait. At this point, the new dates I received today are probably a more accurate time frame.

BTW I just checked inventory, and there are only 6 Model Y's currently within a 200 mile radius, and they are priced higher than the one I ordered in April

The good thing is that you aren’t in a rush to get it since your Hyundai lease isn’t up until the fall, right? Seems like the longer your have to wait the better.

Yes. One of the reasons I decided to order now (besides the price drop) is I had a feeling it would be a long wait. Several people I know who ordered Model 3 and Y had a 4 month wait

I ordered in April with est delivery April by Tesla. I thought I will get it maybe the first week of May. I sold my wife's RX last week since the buyer wanted it right away. Now I'm left with no car for her......she wouldn't drive the LX570

Nothing's final until they assign you a VIN

Yeah, wait times are two to four months. Not too bad considering a friend of mine has been waiting since last April for his Corolla Cross hybrid! And he's number 20....on a nation wide waiting list that now has 300 people on it. He told me that the dealership told him they would start delivering 20 to 25 per month

So having to wait four months is really not that bad!
