I just got my RX450h 2010 Toronto, and i am shopping around for ECP and got a quote from Butler Lexus..
To go 7 years from when new to 100,000 miles cost $2015.
Platinum zero deductible lexus factory backed service agreement ( warranty ).
Just wanted to know has anybody ever bought and ECP from the US and will Lexus Canada honor it.. The dealer quoted me double that here...
Tks,
Kris
If I'm wrong about this, someone correct me....
Short answer is no, Lexus Canada will not honor it. I contacted a Lexus warranty salesman in the US, and he told me that US Lexus extended warranty is applicable to US-bound Lexus cars only (I had tried to get extended US Lexus warranty for my 2008 GS450h bought here in BC, but could not ).
thank you for the info, that what i been reading.. But i have requested Butler Lexus to look into it and gave them all the info off the car... Will advise if anything come out off it...

IF you do manage to get a US Lexus warranty for your Cdn Lexus vehicle, please let me know ASAP. My warranty ends this coming Oct 14, and I would be very much interested in getting extended warranty before the warranty expiry date. Thx!
Even though it's not a Lexus but i'm pretty sure it works the same way. I bought an Audi TTS from Portland and brought it up here in BC. Called Audi dealership in Vancouver and they told me exactly the same thing as you mentioned that CAN Warranty is only applicable for CAN bound vehicles and vice versa for US Warranty. So practically the TTS' warranty was voided once I brought it up...

interesting...but you could bring your audi to the states to get warranty work done can you not?
on a side note, i believe that if you buy a US bound lexus and import it up to CAN, the factory warranty is not automatically voided. you still get the manufacturer's warranty (at least that is what my research has shown). only issue is that you won't get a free courtesy car, dealer freebies and incentives, etc as all that is all factored in the CAN lexus prices.
You're correct that I can bring the car down to states to get work done under warranty. But I called Audi Canada corporate office and they confirmed as well that my audi will not be qualified under warranty if I need to get anything done in Canada. I might give them a call again and clear things up more..
With Lexus, either purchased from Canada or US, you can get warranty work done at either country if not in the country of where it was purchased from. They may charge, because the car is not from the same country he same country however, the purchased country would be able to reimburse if that is the case.
I recall Lexus Canada charging me for something, but I called Lexus US corporate, and they told me to send the invoice. After I did, about two weeks later, I got a check from Lexus US for the amount charged from Canada.
As for getting extended warranty, most likely not since the spec of the US and Canada cars is different and Lexus of the certain country is their own entity which would make sense.
