Default 2016 Obsidian build

Picked up this 2016 a couple weeks ago. Fully loaded with Mark Levinson, Performance and Premium packages. Obsidian with grey leather interior. Bought it from MD (I live in IA), when it got here found out one of the prior owners cut the mufflers off so it’s a little loud for me - haven’t decided what to do about that yet, that’s for another day.

This will eventually be a build thread, but for now it’s a detailing thread 🙄. Wheels and brakes needed some attention and the paint is trashed (will need a two step correction and ceramic coating).

Here’s some pics of the wheels and brakes. Also added 20mm front and 15mm H&R DRM spacers to bring the wheels flush.

Here’s a couple quick videos of the paint’s current condition.

Tomorrow I’ll ceramic coat the wheels and brakes.

Default Wheels, calipers, and spacers done

Wheels and calipers look much better after ceramic coating and the spacers help a lot (in my opinion) with the look.

Default Interior goodies

So the car came with a CF steering wheel and what looks like aftermarket shift boot and gauge hood (bit have blue stitching and the hood is suede/alcantara). Nice touches, so I added the blue F start button from Bonobo and F puddle lights.

Looks good.

Gauge pod hood and shift boot are stock Lexus pieces. My 2020 is the same way.
You should look at getting a leather wrapped airbag cover. It will make your steering wheel and interior pop so much more. It's a nice added detail!

Love your garage door windows. It's a nice modern look!

thanks for the info on the hood and shifter, wasn’t sure with the CF wheel if they added those other bits as well.

Thanks for the compliment on the garage doors. Whole house is very contemporary, so those windows fit well.

Congratulations! Looking forward to seeing this build. Steering wheel is aftermarket, about $750+.

Default Paint correction

Pics after two stage paint correction and graphene spray coating. Not perfect, but much improved. Will get some better pics when the sun comes out.

That paint correction looks great. Where did you get your steering wheel?

thanks, not sure where the wheel came from, it was on the car when I purchased it. There’s an RCF group on FB with a few threads about aftermarket steering wheels. A guy by the name of Elvin Wong sells them, lots of options/configurations. Not sure if this is one of his.

You can tell if it's Elvins by looking behind the wheel at the bottom. His name will be on it.

good to know, thanks for the info. Didn’t find his name on the back so must not be one of his.
