Steering wheel swap
Hello all i was wondering
has anyone swapped new gen'06' is250 steering wheel to 98 gs400?
I swear i saw a thread that someone has,
i already bought one like an idiot before complete comfirmation.
It is clean with all presets., if someone would like to buy it i will sell it on ebay or personally!
If i can use it would be great i was hoping it would fit for the sporty upgrade.
The original detonator is not an exact fit to the new air bag . So i lost out i guess unless some one has mcgivered a way
i will need to buy another steering whell... Any ideas on boss kit and brand steering wheel, i dont care for e shift, id rather dump my gearshift!!!!!!

I did one in mine a few years ago. Almost all toyota/lexus steering wheel will physically bolt onto any other toyota/lexus splined steering shaft, that's easy. The insertion depth and engagement type of the wheels hub into the clockspring properly is the issue when swapping between models. You need a later gen toyota igniter to fit the bag but work with your car, I think I used a Prius airbag but it's been a while. I lathed an aluminum adapter that mated the steering wheel into a heavily modified Camry clockspring, rewired it for the radio buttons work the pioneer double din via a pac programmable adapter and the paddle shifters activate the aem 2-step and overboost.

well I measured total length from Camry detonator A~B was 8cm. Holes matching however is not verified yet , I will be returning to car yard to Double check for exact fitment.
If unmatched I will make and adapter , but im sure it was an exact fitment .
