2004 ES330 steering wheel on 2ES???
Can anyone tell me if a 2004 ES330 steering wheel would fit on my 92 Windom/ES300???
Mines seen better days but is ok, I was looking on Ebay at car stuff and spotted an ES330 steering
wheel and thought to myself I like that, would it fit my car????
My car is non SRS-airbag, I can't tell if this steering wheel is SRS-airbag type or not... Does it even matter going onto a non SRS-airbag car?? Is it a straight bolt on part or did someone get creative and change stuff with this one??
I'm talking about the one in the auction below...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2004-Lexus-ES330-Steering-Wheel-Wood-Grain-OEM-LKQ-/310837713444?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3AES300%7CMake%3ALexus&hash=item485f5f1a24&vxp=mtr

Anything is possible, whether it will be a direct swap I'm not sure. I know my friend for the 3ES swapped out for a 4ES steering wheel but in order to get the buttons to function it required him to personally wire everything up and change his stock radio. In the end he said it wasn't worth it as it looked out of place. Then again the one you listed doesn't even have the radio controls.
About the steering wheel its being sold from the US I would bet that it is an SRS type steering wheel.
Hopefully this is some insight but sorry for not providing any solid answers.

The wheel itself will bolt right up. Not sure if the cruise control connector is the same but I think it is. Are you saying your car has no airbag?

From what I can gather I got a non air bag model....
Whoever the original purchaser in Japan was they must have opted for no air bag...
I know it was a selectable option at least as I know of other 92 Windoms that have them....
I'm sure there is an air bag light in my instrument cluster but it never lights up - not during start up or during general driving to say its not working....
My steering wheel doesn't have SRS Airbag embossed on it...
I guess it's possible someone has pulled the SRS Airbag light out of the instrument cluster, and replaced the steering wheel centre piece with another toyota centre that doesn't say srs air bag...???
I can remove the centre peace of the steering wheel, would looking under it yield any clues either way???
Someone had been into the cluster to remove the rear brake light out light at some stage... so who knows.... I've also found an awful lot of auto glass in the car - behind the instrument cluster, in where the blower motor lives, the base of the windscreen, air vents etc.... So it seems at some stage at the minimum the windscreen has been smashed, the covers on the fog lights were gone - maybe damaged in a crash???
There is no obvious signs of major body damage that I can detect.. The only body damage is to the front passenger door - where a poor repair has been made I think, and to the passenger side front fender where it meets the passenger door, the seem is "crinkled" so to speak, looks like someone pulled it out with a crowbar or something...I've got another fender to replace it, I'm just waiting on the passenger door as well but that's another matter...
Perhaps there was a crash, the air bag deployed, someone didn't want to tell the cops or insurance or something, repaired &/or replaced body parts(a very amateur job was done on the windscreen installation which has since been replaced properly since I've had it as I got a big stone chip from a truck passing. Perhaps they didn't want to pay to get the air bag reset or reloaded or replaced or whatever happens once an airbag has been deployed so they got rid of it, and pulled the air bag light bulb...????
Sounds crazy but since owning the car the stuff I keep discovering the previous owner has
done, did, lost or whatever constantly amazes me!

With the cover on, curious to see what the wheel looks like on the Windom.

I have the wood and leather steering wheel, but I would be fine with an all leather wheel. To be honest, I think it is actually a better material for the purpose.
I like the fact that there aren't a lot of buttons all over the wheel. Every new car needs to have 20 buttons and switches now. I get the appeal but it's all unnecessary with a proper dash design.

I don't have cruise control so if possible would get one without it or one that the cruise control stick could be removed from...
I don't want radio controls or any other controls on the steering wheel.
I purely liked the appearance of that wheel.....
