Is the Type R really that good, setting a bench mark for the F? This isn’t sarcasm, I’m really curious. I have read that it is awesome, but I figured it was awesome compared to its competitors in a lower class of car.
I have a plan to build a track car in a few years and have regularly thought of buying a Type R based on the reviews. Yes, I own an F, but I couldn’t live with myself if I wall it.
If I wall a civic that I paid 20 something for.... meh.

When i first test drive this car after getting it from a stealership. I feel like im getting back to my 30s. It made me 15 yrs younger . It feel so much fun that i put my F on sale right away. Coz im thinking this is my track car im waiting for.
To cut the story short nobody buy myF . Same with F my son and i build this CTR to a dedicated track car. The latest time he achieved with all the modz tuned 350whp and R comp tires at thunderhill east 1:58 Faster than a Nissan GTR 1:59 recorded when i google it. That day the corvette ZR1 has a time of only 2:00 with an expert level driver. My son has only 8 days trackdays experienced. And he is already in the territory of supercars! This type R is crazy fast in the corners!
So thats it, why i put that as a benchmark for my F, but
im hoping with the OS Giken arrives i can match that performance.
With the wing and splitter on that car, no differential is going to even the race. You'll need more tire, a real splitter (like the one on the Civic), a real wing (not a cosmetic enhancement wing), and some focused weight loss to get the IS F in the same lap times as the Civic. Once you get the necessary downforce and tire, you should be able to lap better than the Civic.
This thread inspired me to read about the civic. They are very cheap to make a lap machine. May need to pick one up after I acquire a house with a pole brn (to store my cars and parts in).
