@woaitaimei - Maybe a little, the car always idled perfectly but with the new plugs it feels a tiny bit more responsive (but that may be due to me also cleaning the TB)

Either way this was just for peace of mind...

Quick update - I decided to replace my telescopic steering wheel motor as it started to fail about a month ago ( faint sound when moving the steering wheel in and out) and eventually it completely failed 3 weeks ago. Not wanting to spend over $300 for a new motor I search online for a used one. I actually found a brand new/unopened motor on the Facebook market place. Long story short I paid $60 for a brand new/un-opened telescopic motor that works perfectly! I was super happy

Parcel arrived in a genuine Toyota box.


To my surprise, the motor was in a fully sealed plastic bag prooving it was brand new.

Remove the 2 screws on the lower panel under the steering wheel/knee airbag.






Un-plug all of the connectors:



Wiggle yourself in the footwell and locate the motor - Remove the two 10mm bolts:



(old motor vs new motor) - Same part number !



Turns out my LS had the Steering column TSIB ST00104 Universal Joint assembly fitted to it by the previous owner:



Bolt down the motor and plug it back in, install the connectors and screw the lower panel back in place. Turn the ignition on and test the wheel by making it go in and out! Mine now works perfectly

Considering my LS is nearly at 200k she does have quite a few stone chips on the bonnet. I saw this cool detailing video on youtube where the guy used a Cornell paint pen so thought I would give it a go.

Purchased some OEM touch up paint and lacquer.

I am really pleased with the result! I will need to add one more coat and then the pearlescent clear coat.

Looks great. I think I first saw that paint pen on Ammo NYC's youtube channel, seems like it takes a while but the result is great.

Nice find on the motor, mine is out too and just dont want to pay the crazy price for a replacement.

I bought that exact same paint touch-up kit several months ago... And have no freaking idea where it's at now.

Quick little update - My Cup holders was missing a tab ( i guess the previous owner broke it) so I managed to get one from a donor car at a junkyard and replaced it

Remove the center console:



Remove the cup holder ( you can see which tab was missing) :

All clean and shiny!

I replaced my trunk struts this month; so much happier. Still doesn't pop open but once you start lifting it goes up on its own and stays up.

 

I dont think the LS trunk was designed to pop open but I do agree that with the new struts it opens up way faster and easier.

Little maintenance update -

1 - Replaced my thermostat as the car was slow to reach temperature (in cold weather)
2 - Did an oil + filter change
3 - Drained/filled some of the transmission fluid out as I dont think it had ever been done.









I reckon I will do another transmission fluid drain/fill with my next oil change in 4/5k miles.

Thanks Westpat. I've recently been using Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramix wax and its brilliant! During the winter months I just try to clean it every other weekend making sure there is a nice coat of wax to protect the paint
(ps: I do use a sunshade when its really hot out to protect my dashboard)

 

Hello all!

Hope everyone is doing well considering the current circumstances!

Quick update- A couple of days I noticed my carpets were soaking wet (in front and behind the passenger seat). I proceeded to check my sunroof drains and one was slightly blocked, so I made sure all 4 were free of any debris and decided to remove my interior to let the carpet dry!

Full disclosure- It was a PAIN in the butt... Having to remove the passenger seat, A, B, C pillars to access the headliner, Propping up the carpet to allow it to dry...

The carpet was all wet with little water puddles...


Remove most of the interior on the passenger side.



This did give me a chance to thoroughly clean the seat and interior carpet.



I spent a good 3-4 hours vacuuming the water and drying the carpet the best that I could with a heat gun.





The carpet was finally completely dry & clean
after 3 days of sun here in Atlanta.



I thought I would make the most of the interior already being taken out to remove the driver seat and vacuum/clean the carpet under it!



Carpet nice and clean!



I also cleaned the little tab on the side of our seats as both driver and passenger side were very dirty!



Thats it for now! Hoping to get some new JDM goodies in the near future!
