-JDM Item- Celsior Trash box
Hey all,
Few updates: 1 - Decided to start importing JDM items sold originally with the Toyota Celsior. I hadn't imported any items in the past, therefore wasn't going to try and import a huge item that could potentially get damaged/lost/stolen on the way here. I went for the OEM Toyota Celsior passenger trash box, it arrived on time and in great condition (as advertised)....
I personally think its a fun and quirky JDM item, although my wife doesn't understand why I paid money to import a trash can from Japan haha...
JDM Parcel !
Tan Colored trash box to go with my tan interior:
I'd like to get more items, perhaps the rare rear foot rest next!
Update 2 - The Air lines for my 3P system have been routed under the car and into the trunk. I will upload the pictures later this week when I find the time.
Thanks
Yann

- PM sent.
Update - The trash can doesnt quite fit as both the bracket and the vent supplied are for a RHD car, although I didnt think it would be an issue. I guess I'll need to figure something, perhaps fabricate another bracket.

Update - GROM Audio
Hello,
Thought I would work on the LS430 on this gloriously sunny weekend ( here in Atlanta GA). After doing a bit of research on here regarding Bluetooth streaming audio devices, I decided to go for the GROM BT3 kit. It has the capabilities of hands-free calling, wireless audio streaming and maintaining steering wheel control which is basically all of the features I was looking for in a Bluetooth device.
Here are my basic installation steps in pictures, although they already do have a decent installation video on Youtube.
The first step was to route the microphone, I ran the cord down the A pillar
Then down the door trim moulding, under the dash and into the center console.
Remove the lower center console panel carefully:
Unscrew the 3 lower screws:
Gently pull on the assembly unit:
Then remove the 2 larger screws holding the audio unit:
Then simply pull on the audio unit and will pop out. Connect the supplied GROM audio cable to the back of the audio system and the other end to the existing audio connector.
This is where I decided to put the GROM unit, as its hidden, out of the way and won't go anywhere:
Connect it all up and test the functionality before putting it all back together.
Next task was to try and fit the JDM Toyota Celsior Trash can, as you can tell from the pictures below it doesn't fit too well, due to it being made for an RHD car...It will do for now, although I think I will need to get a custom bracket made in order to eliminate that gap on the sides. I used my existing vent piece which as you can see is not the same color as the one from Japan, however the vent piece from Japan came with a broken tab, so perhaps ill either fix the tab or make it work somehow...
One quick picture of the LS430 after a wash, dry, polish and wax
All comments welcomed
Thanks,
Yann

Hello !
Update - the JDM Nav did NOT fit, the wiring at the back is different, although I did search on YAJ for a "UCF 31 Celsior Nav" and not UCF30 being the previous generation of LS.
Anyway, I had some fun taking it apart and swapping over one button from the JDM nav to the US nav. I tried to swap over most of the button but because of their shape, most of them were not able to transfer from the right side to the left side of the NAV. I also swapped over the surround as my old one was peeling, although not sure how the previous owner managed to wear off the paint on the surround...
Some pictures:
Old Nav:
The difference in wiring:
New JDM Nav surround:
Thanks,
Yann

On left side you have 04-06 model nav and right side 00-03 model nav so you order accidentally wrong year model nav?

I was very careful in selecting an item from a UCF31 (2004 - 2006 Toyota Celsior/Lexus LS) and not from the earlier model UCF3 (2000 - 2003 Toyota Celsior/Lexus LS).
This was the item I got:
Anyways im not too worried as I got a new surround.I may import another one later on as it cost less than $40.
