Yeah it's bad. I had brake dust racing stripes last week when I washed the car and had to go somewhere... the remaining liquids trapped near my brakes blew back and streaked all over the side of my car
I'm not saying you need to add your new car in your signature but I'm saying add a pic of that beauty!
The power cable is routed to the same location where the rear view mirror wire goes to which is inside the interior dome light panel. It's a very sleek spot without anything dangling.
Once mounted the wire is now non-existent. It sits behind the rear view mirror and isn't distracting and I feel is a clean install.
Here's another more frontal shot.
What's left is figuring out what's a good place to tap into power and ground. I know the rear view mirror harness would be ideal since it only turns on when the car is on. I decided to leave this as Part 1 and spend another day to do the wiring clean. The hardwire kit has plenty of space on the top dome interior panel so I didn't really need to shove it anywhere forcefully.

1. XL rated tires?
2. How's the ride versus the OE 19s since the change was so recent?
They are actually W rated tires.
Some say the ride gets so harsh the more bigger wheels and off spec you go but I disagree. I still get that smooth quiet ride. HOWEVER, I must note probably due to my lower profile tires I feel much more of the road whenever it is uneven or irregular. Other times when there is no abnormal road conditions it rides fine.
Liking that dash cam. When you do wire it, please post up pics, as I see several of us adding these. They put out good video and look great in the car.

Thanks!
No problem! I found a few posts on wiring but they were for different cars. I THINK there was 1 LS one but seems everyone has their own preferential wire tapping location. I believe in shortest route and least panel removal if possible. I'll definitely post it once I complete that part.
Unplug the Sliding Roof Drive Gear connector. I think this is the most optimal and cleanest way and not needing to pry open the rear view mirror or any of that business which I initially thought I had to do.
You would need to either splice the wire from the back or you could use those blade wire connectors for a cleaner installation. Some might want the dash cam to record 24/7 and some only want it when ignition is on so that is up to you.
I need to buy another hardwire kit now I touched both wires on accident somehow during testing and fried the hardwire kit. No worries, live and learn and will be more careful next time.

Awesome. Thanks for this. Definitely going to do this real soon!
