I believe so my friend but you should ask Jeff for sure.I hoped you tried it without the VDIM and see if it worked so that I could do it tooGood luck and please keep me posted since we are both Europeans

i think it can be done, with using your is 250 ecm and just using a piggy back aftermarket ecm to run the injector and timing duties

Piggy back is something I considered to use the 4GR ECU, it's also pretty complicated, but I think it could be done. VDIM is a big unknown for sure, there may be options, but I haven't really researched things enough to know.

Good luck!

Jeff

I have to commend you Jeff on your hard work and knowledge of the two cars. Very brave to take this on. Nice job! Will you use tag F Sport short shifter? I liked mine when I had it in my car.

I've had the F-Sport quickshifter for a few years now. It's still in there.

Thanks!

There is a check engine light, the ECU is pretty pissed off right now that there's no automatic transmission to control. Still figuring that part out.

As for 1/4 mile times, probably slower than a stock IS350, but I'd have a lot of fun doing it, if I was to do it, which I'm probably not.

I'm sure you could use the RA62 in an IS350, yes. It was mentioned in this thread in other places. Using some IS200/220d parts might work as well, but those can be harder to find.

So I figured now that the car has actually driven with a 3.5L engine, I can legit change the nameplate on the back.

Behold!

More to come.

Should have installed PPE headers with having the motor out an all. Just got finished installing my PPEs and I've got to say...DAMN!

Great work as usual Jeff!

^I've got a stock midpipe and exhaust, so the sound is actually very normal during usual operation. But step on it, and it really opens on the top end and the sound is noticeably louder...not annoyingly loud however. I'm guessing 15+hp on the butt dyno with the PPEs, 4 new Denso O2 sensors, and new Accel coil packs.

Now back to the regularly scheduled program.

I knew it would fire up with the auto ECU. Glad you did it!

What symptoms are you experiencing now w/o the VDIM automatic? bogging? Are you simulating neutral park and/or drive? congrats again

Didn't seem necessary, though it would have definitely been the time to do it. I may look into doing modifications in the future, but for now, stock is what I'm looking for.

No bogging, it's just in limp mode, only lets me get about 40% throttle (if I was estimating).
