Default SERIALNINE GS drift car

Hey guys

So over the last 9 months with the help of a few close friends we constructed this ...

Life for this car started as a black on black with black wood 98 GS300. The previous owner was parting out the car due to some engine problem. Only a hand full of parts had been sold, tail lights the door latches ( of course ), the wheels, shift **** etc....

So step one was to strip the car of everything.......

Dope!.. been a while since I've seen a gs drifting professionally.. I still remember the first tine I saw Orido killing it at formula d in his red one... I instantly fell in love, then picked my jaw up off the floor.. that car used to shred tires like noones business. Billows of smoke would shoot out from the rear wells. It was an amazing sight. Gl op.. cant wait for vids and more pics

It will be , slowly but it will be.

I had typed this long winded post out will a bunch of photos but left it overnight to edit it. When I came in in the morning I went to post it but it had timed out and I lost it ..........

I'm going to try to recreate it as best I can.

Once we had towed the car back to our house work began almost immediately .

We stripped the car of the drive train and EVERYTHING in the interior trunk and engine bay. With everything out we weighed what was removed and the interior and gas tank combined saved 600 pounds. The goal was to have a the car in full trim with driver weigh less then 3200 pounds.

To allow for massive steering angle and huge rear tires with zero camber we decided to create our own widebody. Work started by pouring foam into moulds we had made on the car .

Then came the shaping of the foam to the basic shape.

Basically the same approach for the wing

So afters hours upon hours upon hours of shaping and measuring the final shape was becoming more evident. You can also see the door cap coming along , the side skirt and canards.

Now that we're happy with the profile we could move forward to applying the body filler.
Here you can also see the bumper cap in the early stages

Door cap in the early stages

So after hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours of filling and sanding we are left with the final product....... The wheels in theses pictures are 19 by 11 +9 with a 38 mm spacer front and a 51 mm spacer rear

So essentially the wheels are 19x11 -29 and 19x11 -42 THIS IS WITH STOCK ARMS AND CAMBER with adjustable arms a far larger rim could be fitted.

All was left was to make some moulds

Now we could progress to the fun stuff such as making the cage and crash zones, fitting the new drive train and our specialty the suspension.......
