Yo Pete, you got any outdoor shots of your grill with that gutter guard ? Looking for some mesh for a grill I got and ran into a comment were you said that's what you used.
yeah man, its only like 4 or 6 bucks or so for a roll of it at Ace hardware or Lowes or Home Depot etc.. And its not so thick that it will restrict the flow. But just enough so you don't see through the mesh.
Cool thanks buddy Gonna give it a try. Looks good.
let me see it once its done

for the grille i left the metal mesh that came on it, painted it all properly then cut a layer of the mesh and attached it from the backside to thicken up the mesh/blackness. so if i was to do it on the fender vents i would definitely double it up and pull it tight because its not that rigid
I think I'm gonna mimick what you did on the grille kinda. Using the metal mesh that came with my fenders and back it with gutter guard. Don't wanna see through it or spray lots of dirt all over my doors.
Seven, the buffer you use, what's the best place to get it and what should I expect to pay.?My paint is worse then what yours was before you brought it back to life.i was amazed at how good it turned out compared to before.
Sorry if you've posted the link already the whole time I was reading the thread I didn't wanna deviate.took me a long time (she was already giving me the look once she saw I was hooked on page 2 lmao)

And i think they are a preferred vendor on ClubLexus, so check that section for a discount. But here's the link
Just spent 2 1-2 hours reading this entire thread, absolutely a beautiful car man. Props to all the one off DIY's in this thread. Its a great feeling building something of your own. True inspiration right here. Keep up the great work.
Let me say it came out pretty damn good!
I double stacked the mesh and got rid of the old one. Thanks again for the idea

A few DIYs I had to knock out on my car when I got it were
Headlight resto
Timing belt/ water pump
Front suspension rubbers
Trunk spring tension DIY
Clear turn stock tails 98-00
Driver seat plastic washer repair
Polishing the gauges from major swirl/ scratches
Replaced broken shifer bezel
Cold cathode tag light mod
Still want to have my exhaust tips tuck up a little higher
Find the annoying clunk in my driveline when I shift into drive after reversing
Removing slotted and drilled rear rotors
Replace upper control arms
Fix my sunroof rattle
Im sure im missing a few, but im right there with you. Fix the small things that make it feel aged. Revitalize its life. Right now im focusing on more mechanical things with 230k but soon ill get into paint accents and fun stuff.
Reading your entire thread has given me some great ideas. Also given me some spin off kinds of ideas. I look forward to seeing more progress. Car looks great.
