Your contribution adds a real value to this forum and I enjoy how precise you are doing things! What a harmony with the Lexus perfection philosophy.

You know I'm all about sharing info!!

Basics:

- $449 from Vaistech.com (on sale)

- $65 install charge by Geek Squad Mobile at BestBuy. Took about 2 hours..much of that was playing around with settings I could of done at home. Install only involves getting access to back of nav screen and oem head unit for the plug n play connections..no splicing or anything required. I figured if they install on my CPO car and break something..its on them n ot me lol. But they did a great job.

Current gripes i have..could be since i am still learning everything:

- Can't run Android apps like Google Navigation on NAV screen while listening to oem SAT/FM/AM/CD/HDD. I can only listen to audio coming from my phone while using those apps that display on NAV screen. The iVic treats it as another source..similar as if I had an additional CD changer. So it appears if I am on a road trip and want to use Waze or Google Navigstion, Iwill need to add music liblibraries to my phone or stream Internet radio to do both at same time..not what I expected to be honest.

- Battery depletion even when plugged in could be an issue on long trips. Phones like the Galaxy Note 2 require 2.0 amps of charging. I can only max out as USB charging when using this iVic but the HDMI processing and constant on screen is a battery killer and its like a slow drip of battery drain but it will never be more to compensate the power it spends..at least that is the case for powerful smart phones.

- Still trying to figure out how to make the iVic return back to Android screen automatically after backing up the car. Since I have self parking, my backup camera still works like oem..but after shifting back into drive the screen defaults to oem nav map..so I have to hit Disc/Aux to return back to Android screen.

I will say that Vaistech has some great people always willing to help after the sale. I am calling on Monday to make sure I did all the setup correctly. Some of this maybe a limitation of the device or my ignorance. I also need to make sure I have latest firmware flashed to it..which is a nice feature they have to allow owners to update their units as they keep up with Android OS pushes.

Hope that info helps. I still think it is a great product that continuosly gets better. I just need to get more music on my phone and quit bishin lol

Welcome to the Luxury Sedan Class! Without an iVIC it is a nice car Made in Japan, LOL
With iVIC and VOSSEN she is unbreakable and unbeatable and unbelievable.

The one and only toy I'm missing is driving drunken drivers home w/o taken their licence. I noticed they are working on that. On the ottoman I don't care but would feel more secure

Thanks man..unfortunately those won't work. I have one already but since the usb goes through the ivic..the phone defaults to usb instead of AC charging. My next solution attempt is rooting my Galaxy Note 2 and flashing a kernel that offers USB fast charge toggle..that way it allows full charge to at least make up some ground but even with AC power..when using the MHL adapter even AC power cant keep up with the drain. It gradually drains roughly 10% per hour on AC power and 15% or more per hour on USB charge. I tested it with my TV using oem Samsung MHL and Amazon MHL adapters..Amazon one works better for stable connection believe it or not. Samsung MHL adaptrr connection seems too short and is easily disconnected with slight movement.

Oh, if you don't want to pay $35 or more for the Samsung MHL adapter, you can get this from Amazon. I can confirm it does work. Plug in the mini extension that Vaistech gives you into the charging port of the IVIC..then the usb plugs into that, the HDMI connector goes in the IVIC and the other USB end with the extra adapter for the Galaxy Note 2 or S3 inline..works great and a stable connection. I had the Samsung OEM but it was glitchy and lost connection if bumped. Here is the $15 MHL adapter that comes with everything you need
Amazon.com: Skiva MHL Micro USB to male HDMI cable (6.5 feet) for Samsung Galaxy S3 (SIII LTE i9300 L710 i747 i535 T999), Samsung Note 2, Galaxy S2, Galaxy Note, HTC One X, LG Optimus HD and other MHL Devices (HD-X3): Electronics Amazon.com: Skiva MHL Micro USB to male HDMI cable (6.5 feet) for Samsung Galaxy S3 (SIII LTE i9300 L710 i747 i535 T999), Samsung Note 2, Galaxy S2, Galaxy Note, HTC One X, LG Optimus HD and other MHL Devices (HD-X3): Electronics

yep, i am starting to panic about the brake actuator or whatever it is that causes the knocking sound. I have done tons of reading here, but nobody really knows what the problem is. Some say it is the brake actuator and others say it is the control arms. Who knows? what's the way to really tell? have you had such problems?
