97 LS400 Build/Introduction
thought i would introduce myself and list the mods i have.
1997 ls400 coach edition with 83000miles. this is how i bought it.
i found a lot of stuff on here to do most of the maintenance on the car myself and did the fog light mod and decided to paint the calipers black.
shortly after i bought the ddm tuning hid kit which i used on my old 91 legend. 8000k
i wanted some starter wheels and maybe save up for some decent wheels later. so i got me a set of cheap xxr 521s with nankang tires.
xxr 521 18x10 +25 all around with 17mm up front making it +8 and 25mm spacer in the rear +0.
after a month or two the oem sub died and i decided to replace with aftermarket and do all the work myself. i bought a memphis pr12 sub and mb quart fxi400 amp and wired everything up. i got everything for under 200 and this sub bangs. btw the previous owner didnt have the oem carpet so he made his own ghetto carpet haha.
i also got some clear corners and this is how she sits of now.
this forum has helped me a lot in maintaining and modding my ls. and thanks to all those who did diys for making this car easier to work with.

If i ever had to buy another set, I think id get the BC Racing coilovers. 30 level damping and camber plate. If not powered by max,but that's a long wait. I've got a buddy with another ucf20 on megans, they work well from what I hear though.

Car's looking good to start. IMO, Megans are great coilovers for their price. They've been great from the start, but I'd definitely spend the extra $ for "custom spring rate" BC coilovers. If you're not looking to slam too hard, then just some rates to help with any future tire rubbing/bottoming out, 14kg/12kg. Like i said, my opinion.
Cheers!

megan LP street have similar damping adjustability.
the big benefit for the BCs comes in the ability to spec a custom spring rate if you want to go extra stiff, and the slightly different rear lower mount design that allows the damper to thread further down.
