My 2JZ GE Build From Stock To Fast
From the start, The day I brought her Home. Bone Stock

So the First thing I did was maintenance. Some things I had to address before even driving were head seals, O2 sensors, Front wheel bearings, Ball joints, tie rods, fuel pump, spark plugs, slotted/drilled rotors, harmonic balancer, painted calipers, cleaned all rust and painted underbody.
Then I added some Vertini fairlady 19's wrapped in Nexens. The car needed a drop so some Megan EZ street coilovers came the same week. I also ordered a carbon fiber hood and got this one by accident but I like it alot, I also thought it would help with relieving heat under the hood.

After reading all the DIY's about people doing there suede headliners themselves, I bought some and hit it over a weekend. 2Tone black and Grey, sorry the pictures suck but its hard to get good pictures with a cheap camera

I got a deal on a Pioneer Z1 Head unit. I had it hardwired/installed with a JDM dash kit and it was a perfect fit. Turns out the Unit had a free CD already in it :approve:. I ran a set of soundstream speakers, tweeters, and amp. No sub yet but I'm already wired for one. I also got a used B&M SS that I hope to transfer to my R154

After giving it some more thought (and finding good deals) I came to the conclusion that as many OEM parts I can use the better. So GTE internals it is

I have already spent so much I put myself on a budget and decided to pull the motor my self :screwy: lol first time for everything

Let me know what you think, I'm no pro but not afraid to get dirty
STAY TUNED I'M STILL BUILDING THE THREAD WITH LOTS OF ACCESSORIES, PICTURES, AND VIDEOS
I'm definitely interested in your R154 swap as thats the potential upgrade route I've been considering as well. The first phase will stay within the limits of the stock W55, but for future power I've been looking into this. I will likely have questions for you about the whole swap and whats required.
Keep the updates coming!
So I got some new parts in
Driftmotion Pulley set I got for like $60, R154 clutch line, and Southbend 520ft lbs Street series clutch kit.

Last but not least Gates Timing belt and R154 Slave

I think I have enough to take the motor down to be built at this point
My buddy Justin will be doing the motor build and install in his Shop Hybrid Motorsports. Big thanks to him for all the help and time he has spent with me and the car to get everything ready. I would recommend him to anyone who needs work done especially on there 2JZ builds or swaps in the Tampa bay area.
Here's all the parts getting ready to get loaded up, This is just for the motor build.

Ready send over to the build shop

New update, builder got the motor and had it apart the next day. Cylinder walls are very nice but I did send the crank off for a micro polish ($30). I also dropped off the motor and head covers today for powder coat. I'm doing the motor in semi gloss black and I picked a surprise color for the covers. Ill post up when I get them back

Just a sneak peak of the block and Covers. Camera phone pics suck but they still look pretty sick. Metallic dust flake in the blue but only shows in the sun. Block came out exellent but I need to pressure wash it to make sure all the blast material is out (I found some specs in the channels)

The motor should be partly assembled so the machine shop can rotate and balance it. I should have it completely assembled by the end of the week.
I also got my steel drive shaft in from The driveshaft shop for my IS300 w/ R154 tranny. I went with steel because I hear the Aluminum ones break and vibrate.

Sad to say I got into a fight over the weekend and I ended up breaking my hand.. Again, boxers break in the same hand as 3 years ago. I'm perfectly fine other than my hand (will post X-ray later) but unfortunately I am going to have to put the build on a little hold until I can find a doctor to do the surgery asap to put a pin in my 5th Metacarpal, then have it removed when I am healed. I wont be able to drive my IS until I get the cast removed but we will see. I'm sure the car will be ready before I'm healed so I wont be rushing anything with the build now. I will keep you posted on this
On a happier note here is a pic of my builders 240. He had this 2JZ GTE in his Datsun and is now switching it over to this Nissan. Its gonna be a monster and should be running a little before mine. I recommend my buddy Justin at Hybrid Motorsports to anyone in the Tampa Bay area. Good guy and great prices
