Talking BIGMerle's 03 GS300 Sport Design Build Thread

Background - I have been a member since 2006 and have on and off posted on CL. But until last week have not owned a Lexus........just always wanted one. I have been building cars since I was 16 and am now 30. So I guess you could say I have some years under my belt. My First car was an 86 toyota corolla AE86 and little did I know then that my parents hooked me up with what would be a cult car. Then I moved to a 93 civic si hb and was one of the first in md to have a b16a motor and to run 11's with the help of a lil shot . Then i made my way to german cars and had a mk4 1.8t . I still miss that car....And then I wanted an A6 Avant with hopes of doing a 2.7t swap....old build thread.... http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...some-ideas-out

But I have always wanted a lexus....went through the IS300 stage ....but always fell back to the GS. I wanted a car that was large enough for 4 people to be in and wanted hp......I wanted an Aristo. So this is the start of my build. I am recently married and she agreed that I needed a car that we could fit a "family" in and that i could "play" with. The A6 was fine for the family but i could talk anyone into doing a motor swap.....loved the quattro but it had NO *****. As I started to look around at GS's and tried to learn more about them i found that it was a GS300 that would fit what I wanted with a 2jz-gte. I had always wanted the black wood interior so i was looking for Sport Design models......and then one day an accident happened. I found a 03 sport design with saddle interior.......game over. I had to have it!! So I spent a couple of months looking and they command a bit more $$ than a regular sport design....so I decided sometimes you have to pay a little extra to get what you want......So last Tuesday I flew down to Myrtle Beach SC and picked her up and drove her back......here are some pictures and this is where my adventure begins......

Sorry that the pic quality is weak....my friend is borrowing my Nikon D80

Welcome!

I also have a 2003 Sport Design.... i would say almost exact... except mine is white.

I was looking to get more power from it... but it is not my primary focus anymore.
