i had to remove and reinstall a wing before and it was torture getting that stuff off. i know i had quite a bit of success using goo gone. some may say not to use it, but it had no negative impact on the wing bc the tape was on the unpainted side

Although you might be concern about your paint... Brake cleaner does an excellent job. Just spray it on and wait a 2-3 minutes then removed. I had to do this for my roof spoiler. Goo gone did almost nothing for me for 3M double sided tape.

Goo gone should work well but it needs time to soak in. The product I use to help in removing stickers or glue left behind from removing clear film is 3M general purpose adhesive cleaner. It comes in an aerosol and it's safe for the paint. I'm not sure I'd use brake cleaner on today's delicate paint. It's too strong of a solvent. Also, once you clean the area, make sure to apply some sort of wax or cleaner wax so that area stays protected.
