Well here is my list.

1) No way to select 1st in E-Shift mode (for GS400s)

2) No ski pass through or folding rear seats. (Apparently we are to use our other vehicle to haul stuff).

3) I agree with the stock suspension problem.

4) Headlight condensation.

5) I dont have any rattles and I have 80k miles.. What are u guys doing? Off roading your cars?

6) Stock GEARING is way to tall.... 4th and 5th are too tall for my likes.. I really dont need to get to 150 I would rather get to 120-130 faster.

BTW.... our crapy stock brakes that people have mentioned before, managed to stopped the Motor Trend GS400 in 112 feet from 60 (1998 test). That is as good or better than the recent tests I have seen for the Ferarri 430 and 360 modena. I think that makes them pretty useful.. (however I agree they could be better).
very true, the stopping on the gs is awesome. just that the feel is kinda weird

I only have a few gripes, a couple of which have been previously mentioned...

1) Coin holder is pretty much useless. It's almost impossible to get exact change without pulling most of the contents out and I love when you open the tray door and the change falls out everywhere.

2) The lack of a single CD slot in the dash. It sucks having to go into the glove box, especially while cruising on the interstate. BTW, how many people still listen to cassettes anyway?

3) The quality of the paint. The colors are beautiful and deep, but the durability is the pits. This car is a magnet for rock chips. I didn't get a clear bra right away and I am paying for it.

As for some of the other complaints, I guess I'm pretty fortunate. I am assuming the 430s got the new steering ECU, so that's not a problem for me. The stock ride height isn't an issue either, as most of us change the suspension out anyways. No rattles yet (fingers crossed), but I'm sure 20s and a drop in ride height will bring those out soon enough.

All in all, not much to complain about. Simply put, it's the best car I've ever owned and I still grin every time I stomp on the gas.

1. Steering feel - or lack thereof
2. Handling
3. Lack of stability on the highway when near trucks
4. Sluggish throttle response
5. Wood steering wheel
6. Heated seats - or should I say one level sometimes they get warm attempt at heated seats
7. Door handles (ok, I'm getting picky here, but I'm trying to get to 10!)
8. Autolock if you don't open the doors quick enough after hitting the unlock - even if they were unlocked to begin with
9. OEM tires
10. Chrome trim (like I said, I was trying to get to 10!)

The first 6 are my biggest complaints however.

OK Henry, no picture but it's easy enough to describe. It's above the park brake handle and to the right of the mirror control pad. It's just a plain flat unmarked panel you have to push in to have it open.

I'm amazed there's something about the GS you don't know.

Here is my dislike list:
1. Headlight condensation
2. Luke warm seat heaters
3. Panel sunroof rattle
4. Steering vibration
5. Non-matched lighting between Radio and Optitron gauges
6. The lack of a single CD slot in the dash
7. Stock rear truck spoiler
8. Cab forward type design, perfer the longated nose a SC
9. Curb weight, again light compared to the SC.
10. Lack of Keyless range

No slots, bro...that and the fact it's so small is why it's so useless.

OK let's see what do I 'hate' about a STOCK 2nd gen GS... (hate is too strong for me though)

- Handling is too soft, too floaty, and leaves car sitting much too high.
- Sunshade defect (ends up slipping back and rattling over time, but Henry now has a fix )
- Car seems to have less insulation from road noise than ES, LS
- Headlights shouldn't trap moisture
- Center armrest leather gets a depression in it from my elbow
- Um, um...

Well maybe Lexus figures you can use it for coins, condoms, mints, whatever.

16" rims with large wheel gap.
Needs Navigation screen on to adjust audio, climate control.
Lower rear-ax ratio to improve initial take off from stop

Get outta here! There's an opening there??? I swore I heard rattles coming from that area (I thought it was either the parking brake lever or something loose). The next time I drive it, I'll check to see if the previous owner left me a gift

haha i had the same reaction!! I just booked it downstairs to check out my holder and only found a stupid switch for the headlight washers..

i hate
1. headlight washers - they are so stupid they don't really work and they look HIDEOUS on my front bumper. oh well, its worth sacrificing for a canadian GS for the price i paid on this car!!

LOL. That's funny.

Give it a push and see what the surprise is.
