Lexus Impresses: Multifaceted ES300h Wows India

Classy, fun & affordable, Lexus ES300h is a clear winner with Overdrive.

With the Lexus ES300h, the Japanese automaker wanted to offer drivers the same luxurious touches as the ES350 but with a powertrain that was more fuel efficient (thanks to two electric motors). India’s Overdrive put the ES300h to the test and found that the large luxury sedan hits all of the right notes.

The ES300h starts off with a bang with its exterior styling. “The Lexus ES300h certainly looks sophisticated enough from the outside,” says Overdrive. “The overall profile is long and sleek, and the sharp LED headlamps add just the right amount of aggression to the face.” Overall, the outlet found the sedan to have an upscale look without an air of pretentiousness.

The upscale design continues on the inside where Lexus has managed to add the right amount of usability and style. “The cabin continues the feel-good factor with a lovely leather-wrapped dashboard that swoops over a large infotainment display,” says Overdrive. “This isn’t just for good looks but also forms a clever hood over the display that prevents direct sunlight from hitting the screen…” With the ES300h, you don’t have to give up looks for usability.

The good news doesn’t stop there, though. The ES300h is also enjoyable to drive. Hybrids don’t have a reputation for having a luxurious ride, but the sedan manages to sporty and opulent. “The driving experience with the ES is quite enjoyable,” says Overdrive. “It’s nearly silent when you want some peace, but it’s brisk enough to entertain the driver when the mood arises.” The ES300h can even tackle a windy road with grace as the sedan “is taught enough and displays good body control.”

Overdrive clearly fell in love with the ES300h and understandably so. The luxury sedan can do it all, while helping the environment with its hybrid powertrain. As the outlet put it, “The Lexus ES300h is highly impressive.”
