Introducing a New ‘Quality Standard’: The Driver’s Seat
Hello fellow RX drivers,
For about a year now I have been dealing with an issue with my F-Sport driver’s seat (the red one in the video, with sound). It constantly rocks back and forth, accompanied by knocking, rattling and even some creaking noises from inside the seat.
*******
By the way, I also had to fix the door panels of my 120,000 dollar "budget RX 2023",... myself and add extra padding, because the Mark Levinson system was clearly too much for Lexus 2023 “quality.” Both doors were rattling and buzzing, and the entire trunk area with the subwoofer was just as bad.
It honestly sounded like a plastic orchestra inside the car. Enjoying music was impossible
→ And a few other things you just have to put up with, because they are “normal.”
********
I finally took the time to record a video and sent it to the dealer. I had already reported the issue by phone a few months ago. On top of that, the cushioning has noticeably sagged. I am basically sitting in a dip now and it has become quite uncomfortable, with pressure on both sides.
After a year of frustration I wanted to schedule an appointment to get this sorted out. The response I received was:
"This is normal. Even the brand new vehicles in the showroom have the same issue (the cream colored one in the video, with sound)." !
Has anyone else experienced this? Do you still love your vehicle, or like me, are you starting to have doubts?

Thank you for your feedback, sonny3621 !
Could someone else please check their driver’s seat by giving it a shake and see if it moves like this as well, especially if it rattles or makes a cracking noise? It’s not like I’m deliberately pulling on the seat while driving, it just wobbles and makes noise when accelerating and braking. I’m wondering if this is already considered normal on a brand new vehicle in the showroom, does that mean it’s not something I can really complain about?
