Lexus Celebrates One Million Hybrids on the Road
Remember last week when we were discussing how impressive Lexus’s hybrid sales figures have been lately, particularly in Europe? Well, apparently Lexus also took note of such good news and decided to celebrate their hybrid lineup a little bit in the new commercial below. Or maybe they just want to sell more hybrids?
Celebrating and selling aren’t exactly mutually exclusive, so let’s just enjoy the clip below. It kicks off with the power button getting pushed, then delivers some electrically charged images, the kind that “live at the heart of every hybrid.” But “only a few truly move us.” Then they give you a shimmering glimpse of those Lexus hybrids that currently do move us — the RX, NX, GS, ES, and CT — and one that soon will, the LC 500h.
But the new ad isn’t just about eye candy; the end of the commercial delivers the home run point: “Electrifying the road forward for over a decade, with over one million on the road, Lexus hybrids are always charged, and always ready.”
People generally think of hybrid technology as futuristic stuff, but Lexus (and Toyota) has been at it for years. And they’ve sold a ton of hybrids, most of which have stayed on the road. Can any other car company say as much?
