Default German brands vs Lexus; a cabin air filter story

I was catching up with a friend recently who moved from the every generation RX owner to a G05 X5 owner, first time to the BMW brand. Loves the switch, as they have been wanting something different. The BMW brand experience felt younger and more personalized vs RX was more of take it all in one package deal preselected by the inventory manager and the customer sales associates really didnt know their product as well.

However the only thing that came up was maintenance and how odd certain things are. I didnt understand what they meant, and the example explained was a simple cabin air filter replacement.

2x filters, drain tube, and t20 socket
make sure your limber

1 x filter, able bodied and able to sit in passenger seat.

@Striker223 wtf why are they so complex?

Again they are still enjoying the X5, and cabin filters are not the end all, but why is this so complex?
