I'm 100% agree with you. Intake hose box. My intake hose box was leaking. The box was separated into the two joining parts. I had many misfire, catalystic and idler codes. I leak damaged two different catalysts on my car and it was not until I was changing the last catalytic that I found out the leak. I did not find the reason why the cat was damaged in that way because I always do all the maintenance a day 93 on gad and that was the cause. Excellent point.

I had that exact problem a while back. Found out the almost the entire bottom of the resonator was cracked. By accident too, after I checked all the hoses, cleaned the throttle body, cleaned the MAF sensor, put a new PCV valve, checked the entire exhaust system for leaks and just happened to look at the box and literally laughed out loud. Got a new resonator, broke a mounting tab (brittle) installed it and BAM!!!! All fixed no more CEL.

Same issue need help with part number
Just took off my resonator box today and discovered a crack on the bottom side as was mentioned by another user. My resonator’s printed part number is 17893-46110 but when I search for it anywhere I get nothing. Is there a compatible alternate? What dis y’all find? Last resort I will call Sewell here in Dallas and see what they say. Thanks in advance!

You can always tape these up good with duct tape or something strong to get you by. There is no pressure or anything that would overcome the tape. If it were me it would be an excuse to upgrade to an aftermarket intake lol.
