Default stalled but have a different question

lets say that the air filter fell off because the clamp became loose

what would this do to the car

btw i have the srt intake w/race ecu

car was running like doo-doo stalled a couple of times

erractic idle the whole nine yards

tighted up the slack in the throttle cable and cleaned the TB and checked the MAF

looked down and saw the air filter wasnt on

so im figuring this messed up something ???

any ideas ???

If the filter isn't on (e.g. you have an opening with unfiltered air going in) its going to allow too much air in and cause the engine to stall.

Not likely the unfiltered air will cause much issue unless you did it for a long time or on a dirt road or something.
