Was changing Serpentine Belt and something happened? Help!!
So I started by removing the engine shroud, then the factory airbox, then followed
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-...ld-starts.html
In removing my old serpentine belt, put in the new one as suggested by that post. I also took a moist rag and cleaned up the surfaces of the engine bay (didn't touch any electronic wiring).
When I try to turn the car on it just makes a clicking noise when i turn the key. I also notice that when i try to listen to the radio, turn on the headlights, or turn on the interior lighting it dims or flickers.
Can anyone help me fix my baby and what the hell happened!@!@?

Yeah i did notice just recently my car wouldn't start and I would need to call AAA to come and jump start it. At first I was thinking Maybe I left something on in the car but now i'm starting to think maybe its just the battery gone bad

I'll probably try jump starting the car if that works for a few minutes then it's gotta be the battery and I'll buy one tomorrow morning. Thanks bro!

Let us know what happened. Did you follow the instructions on how to verify the belt install? The mark should fall within the B?

I checked the belt and it falls in the B area. I'm bringing the battery to an autozone to have them check it and most likely purchase a new Duralast battery.

So you are good to go. When the belt is loose due to age, charging amperage will be affected.
In my case, prior to changing my torn up belt, I was reading a 13.6 charging voltage (should be 14 volt + full load, means all lights on).
After I changed it, I was getting 14.3+ volts. Tells me that the belt was not delivering the juice to the the alternator.
The belt on my car was probably the original one, basterds!

If you do not keep up with the belt, the alternator will not charge the battery per spec and soon the battery will fail. And there could be collateral damage on the alternator, too.
Lesson: Check your V belts. They are inexpensive and easy to replace. $40.
Loose worn belts lead to damaged idlers-pulleys.

So my car wouldn't start and all the electrical was slowly dimming. Left the car unlocked for the night in case it just totally died on me at least I could still pop the hood.
Second Day: Pulled the battery out and went over to Autozone to have the battery tested. They said it was fine but needed to be recharged and asked me to come back in about an hr. Came back picked it up and put it into the car. They called and asked if I wanted a free check done on the alternator and starter to see where the problems stemmed from. All was well but when they tried to retest the battery the thing they had read bad battery and told me that the battery had a problem holding a charge. Luckily the manufacturer of the battery was just a block away from the place and that they think I should be covered by the warranty. So I drove over to Car Quest to have them look into it and see if they could replace the bad battery. The guy ran a test and it returned good battery.
The guy did notice that the battery had this additional connection added on there. Asked why I had installed a electrical cut off ****. Usually people that want it are people planning to leave the car sitting in one location for long periods of time and don't want the battery draining during that time. Further more, these types of alterations to the battery cable make it so the battery actually drains once the connectors age a bit.
History on my car: I purchased the vehicle from a gov auction in NY. The previous owner lost it cause of tax evasion.
Which would make sense why he would need the car to sit at one location for long periods of time.
Answer to the problem: Removing this extra **** he had installed and all was well!!!
I'd like to thank everyone to pitched in to help! You guys are the best <3
