From what I've heard and from a little experience it should quiet it down but will result in some slippage of the belt.

sounds like its your alternator. Not very hard or expensive to fix yourself. About $200.00 and thirty minutes to an hour. If you need step by step instructions let me know. Good luck!

Sorry to hear about the job man. Hopefully you can find something else. Why did they let you go even before you started work? Were they going to let you know when you got there? That's just grimey and not professional.

Sounds like the problem I posted about here:
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...threadid=93835

The power steering has it's own belt? I thought it was just the serpentine belt. Possible suggestions I've had is alternator, a pulley, a tensioner, and now a power steering belt.

Tell me what you do and if it fixes the problem.

Sorry, but did you get the problem fixed, yet?

Good luck,
Mike
