You need to get Supra GTE fan shroud the SC one will hit the GTE fan blade...

darn it.. thank you though!

in that case, do you think it's better to get twin zirgo electric fans for $200 instead? they flow 2500cfm per fan I heard

the fan shroud GTE itself is like $150..?

Only buy the upper portion it is 80 or so ......You can reuse that curved piece that attached to complete the circle of the shroud from your SC one

The stock fan will flow better then electric ones.....and from what I heard a lot of supra guys that have gone electric when back to stock fan...

IMO better off going with stock fan setup.....You can run the car without the shroud it wont make that much of a difference....I am running mine without the shroud at the moment

I painted my fan blade black so it doesnt stand out as much...

You are however located in Nevada which I assume gets quite warm during the day. I live in the Washington, DC area and it's basically a 105 degree swamp for three months every year. I don't have a GTE yet, but I've been running a GE without a fan shroud for two years with zero issues.

IS300 electric fans are also a nice factory option that can be retrofitted in.

^^ This. Either use the stock GTE fan and shroud or go with the IS300 twin electric fans. Best is the stock GTE fan. Other aftermarket electric fans might be good for drag cars that won't see constant use but not in DD or frequently driven cars.

really ok that is good to know before I switched.. even the twin zirgo fans that are rated 2750 cfm each (there's 2) is not as good as the stock fan/with shroud?

unfortunately I don't have any part of the shroud, upper or lower and yes I think there are 2 pieces.

but I guess (for now) it would seem that it is okay to run without the shroud as long as the car isn't over heating?

yes if its overheating then that would not be okay. it shouldn't overheat from just not having the shroud on, but I wouldn't boost too hard on the motor or you could get it pretty hot. just keep an eye on the gauge if it starts getting above normal shut it down. maybe try trimming the stock shroud, or I think temporarily someone trimmed the GE fan to not hit the gte coolant pipe, I can't remember but I thought there was another combo that sort of worked. whats said above is the best way though.

Yes it makes a difference if you are not ruuning a fan shroud...

Not all the electric fans are crap.

It will overheat without a fan shrourd for sure , but it also depends on a lot of things...

You need a fan shroud , whether you run electric fans and clutch fan.

Buy a gte fan black and TT fan shroud.

MIne overheated in about 15 minutes w/o the fan shroud. Must be the Alabama humidity.

me personally, I have ran both.. and only prefer the e-fans for accessability and less clutter. Either one worked fine for me. Try both and you decided.

I ran dual hayden fans, constant and triggered with temp sensor on a 1JZGTE. Needle never broke center.

use the stock sc300 fan shroud, supra fan and water pump assembly. Fan part number from Toyota is16361-46060.
