This is going to sound really stupid, but here goes. Can I close my rear hatch like it didnt have the automatic motor on it? Will it hurt anything doing it that way? Never tried it, I always close to where its just about all the way closed. Then let the motor pull it the rest of the way.
Yes you can close it like a regular non-motorized rear back. I do it all the time. To save cycles off the motor. Of course the kids and the wifey uses the auto ALL the time...
Although in saying that, there is the odd occasion where the hatch will not open via remote key press and hence manually opening and (while not slamming it) then closing it firmly will reset this to allow the button press to work.
