Nasty rumor about the Gen 5 navi with the latest disk
Rumor has it there is no way to put it in override so you can enter in a new address while the car is moving. Rumor has it that the only way to enter in an address while moving is to use (the apparently revamped and improved) voice commands. Is this true?
I should be picking up my wife's '08 RX 350 this weekend. Currently I have a 330 with gen 4 navi and it always amazed me that the car can detect when someone is in the passenger's seat but doesn't use that information to let you work with the navi while the car is moving. Before it was only slightly annoying because you could do the override (even when in motion) but if there is no way to do this with the gen 5 it's going to take quite a bit of adjusting.
How are the voice commands?

I really hope that this is not true! So far, though, nobody has seemed to be able to come up with the override, so it is possible....
The voice commands seem to work fine. I am new to the Lexus navigation system, so I haven't memorized the voice input order. Thus, I have left the voice prompt feature on, and it can be tedious to have to keep entering and waiting for the voice to finish before moving on to the next step. Also, I haven't memorized anywhere near all of the 100+ voice commands available, so I am usually stuck trying to guess what to say, and not getting the desired result. It seems like many times it would be easier to just be able to type things in (or have the passenger type it in). I really wish that I could activate this feature without having to perform a hack.

Semi-off topic, apologies in advance. I wish there was a printed list of voice commands, similar to the personalized settings list. I was surprised to read the nav owner's manual, only to learn that you have to scroll through the menu to get a list. Anyone know if there's another way and I'm just missing it?

Thanks again to Sir Topas and tjain. Sure enough, page 22 of the BT/Nav/XM/RSES quick guide has a chart with commands. I wish the main manuals would've referenced this, but I certainly should've followed the old RTFM technique to its fullest.
I've had pretty good luck with both Acura and Audi systems in the past, so I'm anxious to experiment with this one - more so the phone dialing stuff than anything else, although it would be sweet to go from XM to AM without hitting the 'mode' button multiple times.
