I removed my rear mufflers and replaced them with 3 in piping out the back. Nice growl, very deep and sounds like a smooth running Lexus V8. I dont know if there are any gains besides a nice sounding exhaust, which I receive a lot of compliments for. It is also a cheap mod, compared to buying an exhaust system which will give you minimal gains. And honestly, we all know we buy those systems for the sound. Cut off the stock restrictive mufflers and put nice tips on them and call it a day.

vids plz.

And full catbacks don't give a great price/performance gains unless you really modify a car.

Ill try and get vids up for you. But, there are videos on youtube as well and that will give you an idea on how it will sound. And, yes, catbacks are just icing on the cake. You wont fully utilize a catback until you have headers. At the same time, getting rid of our restrictive mufflers you'd think you'll see a reasonable jump in performance. So, best bang for your buck is definitely the "muffler delete" mod.

hey guys i am new on here. purchased my gs430 then joined up and am now doin research on here. first thing i did was delete my mufflers and replaced with 2.5in pipe. throaty growl, yes, but i wanted more sound. I went on ahead and deleted resonators and cat via straight pipe (there are no restrictions where i am from). it is loud on the outside but not very on the inside. just my input. next step is an intake. any suggestions?

Good thing, you can find a used intake airbox pretty cheap.
Mod the used one you buy and keep you old one stored away.
