compression #'s
anyone know what #'s we should see in a compression for the SC300 (pre-vvti- 92-97) "healthy" motor?
i think the non vvti are 9.5 or 10.0:1 compression ratio? and the vvti is 10.5:1?

when you run a test youre not gonna see 10:1, youre gonna get a number in psi like 195
i dont know what healthy numbers are for 2j is but it should all be in close range...
if thats what youre asking...

"healthy compression" when you run tests and compression ratios are are not the same...
when you run a test youre not gonna see 10:1, youre gonna get a number in psi like 195
i dont know what healthy numbers are for 2j is but it should all be in close range...

lol yes i know the difference between compression #'s and compression RATIO. sorry, i was asking two questions, what are the compression #'s on normal healthy 2jz-ge's (pre 98's) AND what is the compression RATIO on them.
yes i did do a search, don't know but i didn't see many topics that answered my questions.

i know my supra had around 140-150psi compression 8.5:1 but it ran very strong and put down probably 750-800whp still.
a fellow lexus owner quoted to be over 200psi. i found that kind of strange and oddly high.. even for higher compression motors like ours. glad that it's in the 178-180 range...
my first three cyl read exactly that, 180's and the last three read like 200-210! lol
