Default Changing the Oil filter on 96 sc400

Gentleman,

I just aquired a sc400 and it now time to change the oil. I searched below the engine and there is a plastic shield. does this shield require removal to access the filter?

Thank You for your help

Sorry Bob,

I forgot my manners. Welcome aboard. You'll love that car and this forum. What color and how many miles on your car?

I remove my oil filter from above. Can't get a good grip from below with that conduit in the way.

No need to remove the plastic shield unless you have a garage lift. I find it easier to remove the oil filter from the top, driver side.
